    Hi all

I'm currently in the market for an ecu for my 1jz-gte vvti. I want to make a good investment so that I only do it once and be happy for years to come.

    My criteria was:
    DWB
    Full sequential fueling for 6cyl
    Engine protection features

I've narrowed it down to these:
    AEM 506 (most affordable)
Link Extreme (same cost as haltech)
    Haltech 2500
    Emtron SL6 ($$$)
    Motec M130 ($$$$)

How do these ECUs compare to one another in the real world? It's one thing to be impressive on paper, what I care about is real world performance
I want to know which of these ECUs will be the best investment in the long run.

Have you considered an ecu master black?

It has all the features of a link extreme and significantly cheaper.

Yes I had a look at it but there aren't any tuners for it in my area. Impressive features though

I'd speak to the person tuning it , and take it from there.

What car is it for? I think I've seen that Link are releasing a JZX100 plugin ECU soon which could save time and effort with the loom

I think you should weigh up which will have the most support in the uk in the future.

Haltech / Link would have the longevity at this point with plenty of support so would be my go to.

Maybe best to speak to who you will get to tune it for their recommendations in the industry!

Thanks guys. I ended up going for the Link, couldn't justify Motec prices.
Most guys in my area can tune Haltech but not a single one is a Haltech dealer. The guy I've chosen is both a tuner and agent for Link

For cost effectiveness i would go for the ECU Master

For the price of the others i would rather have a Syvecs. Loads of tuners prefer them.

Haha no worries. Go for ecumaster if your tuner is also a dealer for them.
If not, find someone who sells and tunes your chosen brand, that way you won't second guess your tuner

Ya that’s the advise I’d give to anyone.. I can go link or ecumaster or stay powerfc and the same tuner does them all. Thanks
