    Hello guys,

I’m looking to get into drifting and was debating a is300, how much would I be looking at to convert it to a manual? Would I be better getting a is200 or bmw to learn?

    Is300 is 2jz

So your options are similar to that of a supra/soarer/jzx.

    R154
    BMW box conversion
    Cd009 conversion
J161 or whatever the code is

Thats a sliding scale of cost too.

    R154 about 2k to 2.5k
BMW if can be cheap depending on ratios and box choice. But if its m3 box like a soarer ideally needs to be its 2.5k
    Cd009 I'd say is more like 3k

    I'm talking all in.
Pedal. Master. Slave. Clutch. Conversion bits. Box. Prop.

Its gonna take time and a lot of hunting about for the bits.

Just converted my soarer to BMW. Hated it. Now gone r154. (BMW box was noisy as some can be it seems)

    The choice.... is yours.

Oh and if you're paying labour and not doing it yourself. Pull ya pants down some more.

Thank you, would also be potentially looking at something I could almost jump in and drift straight away. The work will be done be me and a friend in a unit. Will be looking at about a 2/3k budget on a car then having money over time to do it up. Thank you though, a lot of research is definitely needed.
