I So I’ve been busy on the car but with loads of fiddly little boring jobs that don’t exactly photograph well.

i had an issue with one of my water lines that Hel made for me. It was leaking out of the swivel end of the fitting.
    43E77DC9-94DC-4A80-A468-5660EE7E7C87.

now credit to hel because i bought that line like 8
Months ago. And i phoned them up and said i had just put fluids in the car for the first time and it leaks. Sent them a little video of it, then i had a new line in my hands the next day. No worries. Excellent customer service.

i also got my screamer pipe made up. Still need to fit that. But its made if nothing else.

Then it was onto getting the car running a little better. So i fired up the laptop.
    885FFCA5-A63C-4D23-BEC2-C5C740173A13.

pretending i know what i’m doing on the laptop. My main aim was to run it up to temp and check for leaks, adjusting fuelling to target a 14.2 AFR as per my tuners requests.

    486420F7-4352-4018-A39B-7357F6CA1F22.

it sat there happily idling away for 20 minutes or so. So that was a nice step forwards.

Then onto some other news. I had a buddy keep pesting me to sell him my viennas. Now he used to own them and ran them on his s13. Since has bought a jzx 100 and wanted some baller wheels for it. The issue i had with them was despite the fact they look gangster. They are a lot smaller than my street wheels, so i needed to run different tyres and run spacers every time i bolted them on at a drift day, so would of been a pain in the arse. He made me a good offer. So i let them go. Also free’s up some funds to finish up the last few bits on the car. These are the viennas test fitted on my buddies jzx100. They look sick.

    D27D92BD-49BD-48F1-A5AB-F081CF0908B7.

Sad to see them go. But needs must.

popped back up the unit to move the car because my friend needed to get his s15 out the unit. So i put some panels on the car and backed it out of the unit. Took the opportunity to take some photos of it. Its really starting to look like a cool car now.

    9DB7954F-07F5-4B6B-9331-8B4207E15467.

Next up is figuring out some power steering. Then its some tidying up, wiring, bodywork and paint. Its nearly ready for the road.

We nearly have a car, that can car. Fuck yeah.

I went up to the unit yesterday and cracked on with swapping my rear suspension arms. Because they were busy crashing into the chassis rails. Nothing wrong with them other than that. However they had to go.
    93AE802B-FB1A-4E93-BA0E-8F4375D1F9A9.

They are for sale if anyone needs some. £60

I switched over to the GKTECH v4 kinked camber arms.
    5537E8EE-2FA1-4775-A635-B0EB3782B0A2.

I still need to order some kinked toe arms but now i at least have suspension.

I then decided at this point. Time to go for a first drive. So i backed it out the unit and let it warm up.
    439B0698-F576-49DE-A147-58FC088D7E61.

Then went for a drive about. I didnt go far before i found a rotation knock. I think its the cv’s binding where i have shortened the rear lca’s too much. I have a stock set in the unit im going to chuck on next time im down there to see if that fixes the problem. also no power steering still, and the brakes definitely need another bleed as they are very soft. But it looks cool even in its rough state.
    88A72E18-A79C-4333-AB0B-6519B6F0AE2E.

Also drove at that height with minimal scrubbing issues on the front. It does still require a little work but nothing dramatic.

So i think im going to try the stock rear lca’s if that fixes then problem then im going to go onto steering. And tidy up some wiring and get it ready for the dyno.

Also a friend popped over with his lorry he just finished building. Which made for an interesting photo of total opposites.
    4183F924-2C21-4547-92AA-397F40600844.

just a quick update. However we are heading the right way.

You're ticking off some milestones right now. First start up, first drive.

First wheel burn won't be far away....

So ive been busy plugging away at shitty little jobs on the car. Had to swap the rear lca’s for stock ones. That has fixed my binding cv issue. Got the car warmed up and took it for a little drive.
    9537B97C-C6BD-402B-8463-F366FCFE317A.

The alignment is absolutely not anywhere near fucking anything. So i need to sort that out.

Dug both the cars out the unit. Took some photos of the pair of them.
    759F0A38-7CAF-4A27-9A43-EE61408A6194.

I then moved onto sorting out my wiring for the fuel pumps. I taped the loom up and tidied up everything. Looks much better.
    50EDD024-9EA5-499D-8C0C-B77800B9E627.

I need to figured how to actually clean the boot out. Looks filthy.

Then i moved onto the bay. Tided a few bits up and started to get the bay looking presentable.

    0E0AB3B7-DBBA-42F0-94DF-9962BE88AB25.

again the bay needs cleaning. But its getting there. Also ordered up everything to make the powersteering work. I am hoping if all goes well it will be on its way to the tuner in the next few weeks if all goes well. We will see. Just a quick update.

thanks keeve. I wanna get it to stl or some other events this year. I really would love too. Black is legit. But my homies have already painted their cars. So I’m going to paint it this year. Then after that it will go black. Looks so good.

So i received a phone call in the week from my mapper, due to the current misery/pandemic. He had a load of customers drop out. So if i could get my car to him. He had room. So game on.

i had to do a couple of jobs before it could go. Namely change the oil and check all is well after its run for the first time.
    AB6DB00A-29D8-473C-A7B5-F1F15AD716B1.
Considering the car has only run for 2 hours tops the oil was filthy and stunk of fuel but i guess thats because the map is so far off and its never had proper load on it yet.

the sump plug had a little bit of shit on the magnet but nothing shocking. ADE3E8A7-296E-41EB-AA43-F910D4FBD0AB.

I then cut the oil filter apart to have a look in the pleats.
    0EF865AD-3902-4CA8-8D29-FC21DCF41E41.

Nothing too dramatic. A couple of tiny flakes of material but nothing at all concerning.

Then i threw on the screamer pipe i made a while back. V band screamer pipes are an absolute fucking nightmare to fit single handed. That to a massive amount too long. But hey. Its on.

then i had to bodge up a quick vent cover so if it rained it didnt fill the plug valley with water.
    A3976334-E9EF-4721-9DF9-E0F9666F590C.

I used what i had laying around. Job jobbed.

i also had to vaugely throw the interior back togetherish as i had everything apart to wire in the defi’s. So i did that quickly.
    AC3AFE0F-4700-43EB-A0DF-20D00F872D36.

As i was finishing this the truck arrived to take the car.

So i pulled the kit off. And astonishingly it drove straight onto the truck. I was impressed.
    4F7440EB-DC72-435D-8B37-89352594C0D7.

so i locked the unit up.
    4B4CA56A-6FBF-4278-A5C2-346F57BD3877.

Was fucking weird seeing the car not in here. Its been in here nearly 4 years.

Not as weird as this view.
    900AEEA9-3419-422F-9819-FC3E8F732D0F.

So strange to follow it up the road. But that i did.

we got to Jack’s at J’s Garage Motorsport, now given the current climate jack didn’t greet me which after 10+ years of friendship was pretty fucking weird. However it is for the best for both of us. This was a contactless drop off. So i took another picture if it on the truck because it was so weird.

    3C1FA87F-6E14-4A0F-831B-59E753DDFFAD.

so i unloaded it. And chucked the kit back on it.

    0856453D-8849-4F01-8C13-D2BDAD8E59FF.

And parked it up to take its place in the que.
    042CED93-C706-48CE-94D4-64A7A1246A36.

Walking away felt like I imagine dropping your kid off at school for the first time feels. Fucking petrifying. Also thats the first time the car has been outside overnight for like 4 years. Hahahaha. My poor car. I also forgot to mention i got my power steering all hooked up the other day too so thats all working now.

So the car is now with jack ready for him to go through and sort all the fuck ups I've made and make it a useable car hopefully. Should come back north of 400 whp. And scare the living fuck out of me, orrrrrr it’ll come back with a whole in the block and the bill to fix it will scare me. Either way it’s coming back to scare me one way or another.

i have no time frame. As it depends on what happens in the country with regards to any further lockdowns or so on. So hopefully things improve and get better and the car doesn’t fuck jack around too much. Then maybe we will get some results sooner rather than later.
