Silkolene oil is the best engine and gearbox oil in my opinion. I have it in both my engine and gearbox . Engine is still going on standard internals after 7 + Seasons . Gearboxes are lasting way longer than normal. If the box is slightly whiney or wore use Silkolene shock proof. Itl help.

Make sure its the right grade and right GL.
75/90w GL4 for most syncromesh nissan boxes.

Iv tried all sorts of oils over the years from cheap Comma crap to expensive Redline.
But now just gone with this....
1 Ltr MaxLife MTF GL4 75W90 | Euro Car Parts UK

Pissed off draining £60 quids worth of MT90 after one meeting to find it full of metal so just sticking with cheaper stuff.

Redline MT90, or Millers do a shock proof oil..
We've had a few cases where we end up dumping virtually new expensive gear oil, but we filter it through fine filters then use it for diff oil:thumbs:

I Put Redline Shockproof in mine a few months back, made it a decent bit quieter and stopped it crunching so much. But it was the first time I changed it.

Redline lightweight shockproof oil is the best oil I've ever used

Redline Shockproof is a GL5 - GL6 oil and isn't suitable for use in synchromesh gearboxes.

I ‘m testing honda mtf3 gearbox oil in my sr20 tranny after breaking 3 geaeboxes on 350hp i olso gonna put back a visco lsd instead of a welded diff as i use the car more for trackdays and sometimes some nurburgring laps. With the honda gearbox oil shifting goes verry smooth better then before so far

350 isn't a great deal of power to be munching gearboxes, probs wanna figure out why thats happening.
