That's not HDR though is it? Just a Light-roomed picture?

Edit: Yea - HDR "Effect"... very over processed though, the sky is nearly brown!!

High dynamic range. Can look good in some cases, but in most cases it'd just overdone.

Yea, multiple exposures, subtley blended together. Very useful for working in places with usual or poor lighting, or when you have lots of distances to keep detail in.

It can look stunning, done right.

In the old days you needed a lot of patience to do HDR photography, because it meant taking the same picture with a range of aperture settings. Now it's a piece of piss, just shoot RAW files which have all the data in them, then tweak it with software like Photomatic Pro.
The trick is to do it subtly, and not overdo it. When it's done well, it looks amazing. Done badly, i.e. too much, it looks cartoony and fake. I'd say these ones are leaning too far into the latter. Just tone it down a bit and it'll be cool.

99% of the results of HDR just seem to be rank rotten in my humble opinion!

Looks gimmicky and unnatural... not a fan!
