I have a friend in the army whos doing a photography degree so i offered to help him out, not to everyones taste but thought id show you. its called hdr effect...i think lol
High definition reflections by any chance? second pic is good, the next few seem a bit overworked to me. cool tho
That's not HDR though is it? Just a Light-roomed picture? Edit: Yea - HDR "Effect"... very over processed though, the sky is nearly brown!!
high dynamic range? hows it done? not actually come accross this before... actually, more than enough material on google search... wouldn't worry about explaining!
Yea, multiple exposures, subtley blended together. Very useful for working in places with usual or poor lighting, or when you have lots of distances to keep detail in. It can look stunning, done right.
In the old days you needed a lot of patience to do HDR photography, because it meant taking the same picture with a range of aperture settings. Now it's a piece of piss, just shoot RAW files which have all the data in them, then tweak it with software like Photomatic Pro. The trick is to do it subtly, and not overdo it. When it's done well, it looks amazing. Done badly, i.e. too much, it looks cartoony and fake. I'd say these ones are leaning too far into the latter. Just tone it down a bit and it'll be cool.
man, i was just amazed this has been around since the atomic bomb! haha, TIme magazine had the mushroom cloud in HDR on the front cover! gonna have to get some done
99% of the results of HDR just seem to be rank rotten in my humble opinion! Looks gimmicky and unnatural... not a fan!
