Right, so here it is, the starting point of my new competition / street car build. I feel any true drift car should always be on the street, i dunno, its my thing I bought the car when i was in Japan from the owner of MCR (Mind Control Racing) Yokoi, who's also a up an coming D1 star. Yokoi heads a team of around 8 drivers in the city that i lived in, Nagoya; and they are known as the best of the street teams. The car has been used by a couple of the team members, but developed an engine fault. Since i was leaving Japan, i asked if i could buy it and paid the extortional sum of... £600 So i set about loading it up on a container with my mark II... some scary shizzle! and believe it or not we fitted the JZX90, the S14, 20 wheels, 3 bodykits, a 1JZ engine and a mountain of other parts in this container... So a month went by and the cars landed in southampton docks, after a couple of days clearing we got everything unloaded and put into thier respective storage places. Not to do things by halves, myself and the man machine that is superclarkey arranged to have the engine lifted into my rental van... At this point i need to thank and reccomend a gentleman called Wayne Kadel (i forgot his company name, but hes a legend when it comes to sorting shipping out from Japan!) Julian from Severnside Imports and Pengiun Shipping for making it all so easy. I cannot stress enough that if you are going to bring cars from Japan, use these people! So the car landed on my drive and i couldn't help but slap wheels on it and take some shots... mainly because i was planning to sell it Faced with having to sell the JZX90, i decided to sell the S14 and was very interested in another fairly infamous car on here... but after being buggered for cash for quite some time and looking at the S14 a billion times while smoking fags on my mums drive, i couldnt bear to sell it. Somehow, its got a little spirit of Japan in it... The sale was off and it had to stay...
So roll on a few weeks / months and i have finally gathered enough parts and cash to make a start... and what a start! I would like to thank DRIFTWORKS as always, for providing me with a huge selection of parts that make building these cars easier. RARE RIMS for providing me with some big ass wheels. CARBONMODS.co.uk for hooking me up with lots of awesome carbon fibre gear, including splitter and cannards. full retard to ensue. AUTOBODY CARE in Birkenhead whom will be doing the paintwork and keeping it real NICKSON MOTORSPORT for being able to deal with my over demanding time frames and general level of anal-ness about anything. ORIGIN EUROPE for sorting me out with some idiot spec spoliers. MITCH (driftgarage) for being my trailer bitch and taking the car everywhere! SUPERCLARKEY who generally helps me get stuff done without making a dick up of it Also worth mentioning - Patrick at RHD Japan, really top dude! If you need anything he's your guy. and also Ryan Hampton of Ballerbolts.com - ex formula D driver trying to cut a living So anyway, the car was dropped down to Nick at Nickson Motorsport about two weeks ago, after a half assed strip job was done by myself and Jon "gaint broken beetle pain in the arse" calvert... and off it went to get hacked up. When i say hacked up, i actually mean, made into the megatron of silvias. I'm gonna stfu and just show you. Thats the front and rear of the arches tubbed, plus modications to the inner arches and front chassis legs that you can't see ^^^ notice how the holes in the A pillar gusset's are in line so this bit is the result of me saying "Nick, i don't want to cut the side of the dash, it looks crap man. oh, but i want to keep the stock heaters and all that other crap behind the dash... "i also want a lightwieght jacking point between the rear legs..." So thats the progress upto today, currently my face is like this... Although thats soon going to change considering the lack of time before that start of the season! argh!!! I'll stick up the spec list in a bit... definatley the most comprehensive build i've attempted yet. Thank god i lived in japan long enough to fill a container with pikey second hand parts!!! Thanks for reading, looking. I'll do my best not to feck it up!

worth keeping with the history of it, how did you find japan to work and live in? how was the language barrier?
That's quite a setup you're building Mitto. Will be good to see how it emerges. Still going with the kit we talked about at Pod?
Mitto, another mad car dude love love love that cage mate this is gunna be epic I feel top work will keep an eye on this 1 !!
Now thats a lot of bracing!! the chassis stiffness on that is going to be mental!! Nick's work is awesome. Are you staying SR??????
you dont mention the seam welding of the blocking of the rear quarter holes.. maaaaan the amount of work into this car is fucking awesome. love all your builds mitto so hope this goes the same way.. cant say enough about nickson motorsports either.. been such a big big help in every way to my projects progression too.
lol....bargain! 600 quid wtf is up with the 5th pic? is the van getting loaded in a container? lol keep up the good work...u look tired
just to give people an idea of the work gone into the bodyshell heres a list of the work nickson motorsport carried out. safely the busiest 2 weeks of my life lol. majority of sound deadening removed from the floor remove all seam sealer and seam weld the entire passenger compartment fill a/c holes and loom holes in bulkhead, and re locate pass side loom hole tub front arches with air ducting included tub rear of front arches, and enable removal of brake servo front turret plates and cross brace with gussetting into bulkhead, keep easy access for servo and wiper motor removal flat off all front arch seams and weld to body notch chassis rail seams for clearance on front wheels front and rear sections rear chassis rail seams notched for suspension arm clearance fill rear 1/4 panel holes cut out boot floor and fabricate frame to mount flat floor, incorporate jacking point. cut rear 1/4 spats off flush with boot floor level and fill attach rear panel to boot frame and cut rear panel level with boot floor cut out and tub rear arches to maximum height, also avoid filler cap on pass side. modify rear subframe repair cracked tubular manifold install 6 point rollcage with original dash bar incorporated, extra bars such as harness bar, cross rear diagonal, turret support bars, b pillar brace, double door bars tied into sill, and shaped around original doorcard. extensive gussetting around the full door opening area. all in a timeframe of less than 3 weeks from start to finish. look forward to seeing the build progress and am glad to be a part of the project. thanks mitto.
Mint work as ever you strange ginger man. What I like about your shit, same as Wanders stuff, is unlike 99% of stuff, its original, and in a ridiculous way. You dont pick the best bits everyone else has done and copy them, you get some mad idea of what you wanna do, and jus do it. You understand shit so go do it even if nobody else has, rather than see the usual stuff that works and pick and choose the best bits.
fix it good! awesome and a total nightmare. it drives you mad, but then you get to do amazing shit that makes everything awesome again. I miss it bad!!! If it's what i put above, then dang straight son! It won't be a "drag" wing... fuck yes. roughly 140 ish hours + with nick alone. Dude, i've only just stopped dancing round my house like a bellend! Thinking is not on the agenda! No man, check it out... its like a 50ton fork lift with a 1JZ hanging off the end of it going in a van!!! I'm not that tired, just old Retardation and also, from my statement, you assume that its going to be easy to drive or that i actually have the skill to drive it. Both of these facts are highly debateable! No man... THANK YOU
I think Gothspec Nick should build a proper car, he's had the same "dutch mind training" that myself, Albin and Wanders have been through
