resently bought myself a 328 e36, took it to weston drift day a couple of weeks ago where i manged to snap a driveshaft now i put it down to me dirt droping at full rev's however just fitted another shaft took it out for a spin an snaped another one any one no which model i could get some more heavy duty shafts??
mate i was there with the v8 bmw mustang its running high torqe and i have had know trouble and they are standard 2.5 once same as yours i should think so maybe unlucky or something else wrong or have you got small case diff and drive shafts out of 1.6/1.8 etc
there standrd 2.8 shafts i know i've a heavy foot it the oppesite side to the 1 i broke at weston so wondering wheather it got damged there, wasn't giving it to much grief earlier so was suprised have some more spares so will pop on in on the weeken an try again
blimey are they really that bad?? i have always been under the impression they were rock solid.... scary stuff! I think i should be alright in my 320 no enough powers to do any damage!
the amount of rain that day wouldnt of put any stress on them but you got to remember they have done alot of work before we start ragging them , i notice mine are both fairly worn now, on the main joint out of diff they have play in them so will prob break soon but that doesnt make them weak just worn. every one seems to forget things only have a limited life span, at leased they are cheap enough fella
