I just cant make up my mind. I want to get a new lens and have narrowed it down to... Canon 100-400 L f4.5-5.6 Canon 70-200 L f2.8 with 2x converter Canon 300mm L f4 with 1.4 converter I basically want more length I have an f4 70-200 already that I could use with a 1.4converter which is why i was looking for a 300mm. But then I started thinking that I might as well get a 100-400 instead, sell my lens to reduce the cost and not having a converter in the mix would also help with noise. Then I read that this lens can ingest dust (although this seems mainly hearsay) so wondered about getting the f2.8 version of my lens which would give me more flexibility as I could opt to use with or without the 2x extender. But now Im back to square one thinking it might be better to keep what I have and just have a 1.4 converter mounted on a 300mm all the time as my "long lens" until business picks up and i can buy something that got a 5 or a 6 at the start !! Im assuming all the above have IS and are in decent nick for similar sort of monies on fleabay/lce etc Help Im confused - anyone got experience of using the converters alot, what would you do ??? j.
Wildlife at a distance, Maybe later some car stuff, but I doubt I need massive length for that, although its always nice to have extra (according to the missus ) J.
