i have probably missed it on another thread somewhere (i'm new... that my excuse) Where do you guys get all your parts from? I generally have mine sent from US to a friend of mine in the USAF so that i don't have to pay import tax. Is there any where more local that i can use?
Glen, where are you?! I've got most of my parts from Glen (Tokyo) at very very good prices. theres always something nice to see on his drive when you pick them up too
Indeed !! Glen certainly has put in the time over in Japan to make good relationships with the right people over there for drift stuff. See my sig for proof of what can be found !!! J.
My car is very much standard. so i need the works. want to start with a some good legs then move on from there.
I seem to do OK without a fancy diff, only got the stock s13 viscous LSD. No doubt its far better having a mech diff but IMO I wouldnt say its essential when starting off in drifting especially as it costs a packet. I dont have coilovers either so I guess its just down to my natural driving skill. Personally i think the first thing to buy is uprated suspension of some sortjust to stop the car leaning and wobbling so much.
Was interesting seeing that video at yours though Steve where they also said the first thing to get is a diff and you will learn much quicker with one than without one. Id do suspension first if it was me, but I think a lot of it depends what exactly you start with.
That what i thought having driven my car. I can try to turn in hard but i can't commit because i bounce too much. Also when the back does come around, I get that awful bounce when the tyres finally grip and it throws me to the otherside. Is that beacause i'm driving badly or does soft standard suspension do that?
Ahh, but it will be easier to control with some decent suspension. Shameless plug time.... Come to the Fakenham/Sculthorpe drift day mate and have a practice there. Looks like there will be plenty of time on track.
