Can someone please link me, or explain to me all the differences between L-Reg and N-Reg cars and all the other crap? My transfer has just been accepted so i'm moving pretty soon, and am pretty keen to grab something from powervehicles when what im looking for comes up, the thing is I have no idea on your legal system. Over here you need, WOF, Warrant of Fitness to drive on the road, which is renewed every 6 months, and regostration, which is paided 3 monthly, 6 monthly or 12 monthly. Cheers boys.

I'll be looking at something turbo thats for sure, so insurance for a 20 year old male? Have owned 6 single and twin turbo cars so far, had insurance for them all.
When I came back from switzerland I told all the companies that I had been driving the car for two years over there, some took it into account and gave me a little discount, others didn't, it's just a case of phoning around It won't be cheap though, expect it to be over £1000 on an s-body

£1000 for fully comp, i reckon you could get an s14 or s13 for about £600-£800 third party if you shop around. the NZ driving licencse may push it up though, might be worth getting a UK one anyway.
Wouldnt count on it. 20, 0 ncb on an S body could result in rediculous insurnace, esp without a UK licence.
Thats what I was thinking. When I was his age I couldn't get it lower than £1200 no matter how hard i tried. That was with a years no claims, it was only tpft and it was 4 years ago before all the crashes people were having started to up the premium If I was in the same situation now it would prob be £1400+
didnt realise he had 0 no claims if so then i think in todays climate i think that its not gonna happen. a quick quote search reveals that no none specialists would even look at it.
I was a bawhair off £1k at 20 on an s13, with a years no claims. It'll probably be pretty expensive, but then so will the majority of nice drifty stuff I'd guess.
for an idea my ITR cost me £2300 a year to insure, with mods declared and 2 years no claims at 20. expect to pay shit loads!!

To give you an idea, I pay $1300NZD, which is about £500 for full cover rated up to $14,000 (£5500) for a RB20DET'd S13 Silvia. I've got several place where I could live, South Woodham Ferrers, Billericay, Wickford and Rochford. What's needed for a UK License?
AE86 prices have gone thro the roof....expect to pay 5000 for a good one. Loads is now needed for a uk license, pratical test (you need at least a minimum number of lessons before hand now), theory test with incorperated video awareness test.....none of that is cheap....even if you do take the test, your insurance will still be very high as when you phone them up, you have to tell them how long you've had a UK license. My advice.....get a nice little Honda CRX Vtec to buzz about in , a lot cheaper to insure being only group 12.....not rwd i know....but cool cars!
Only honda i'd drive would be an S2000......I roll in style not in a fucking pile. LOL. Thanks mate, will have to see what my options are. Hopefully ill find myself a nice NA Rx3 or something.
