So on to this years plans, out with the old SR20 and in with a bimmer engine. I went for a M50B25 that came off a E34. My goal is 500hp on the wheels on E85, everything abou that is just a bonus.
Some engine specs and what's done with it:
-Engine block is acid washed, milled out for O-rings, and bored to 84,5mm
    -JE forced pistons 84.5mm
-Pauter forced rods and ARP bolts.
    -ARP head studs
    -Precision SC6262 Billet turbo
    -Precision 46mm wastegate
    -Two inlet cams.
    -New oilpump
    -New aluminium waterpump
-Sachs 618 clutch with 4 pucks sinter.
    -M20 flywheel
-PPF race chain and everything is new on the register.
    -All new bearings and seals.
-Crankshaft is balanced with flywheel and clutch.
I tried putting the engine in as it sits in the bimmer, and thats 30degrees tilted on the exhaust side, but it bumped into everyting on the driverside.
I could have just moved from right to leftside drive, but I choice to straightened it up. It took bit more work, but it looks so much cooler too.
Just throwing out some pictures from the past few months of work.

    Sandblasted parts.
I had to measure the lift on sylinder six to find the right angle postion for the cam. Since I`m using two inlet cams.
Made a jig for holding cams in the right postion while timing the register.
    Before.
After, but found out its pretty stupid to paint the cover before the engine is refitted in the engine bay.
Made a jig for cutting straight and turning it in the saw.

    Rewelded and upright.

So now I have just started on making the inlet. I have just bought a set off throttle bodies from E36 M3 that I`m going to cut and reweld onto a adapter plate so it will fit the M50 head. The adapter plate is soon to be finished from milling. Not the one in the picture below, its only 10mm thick. it needs to be 40mm too clear the M50 Top head.

Ah i thought it may have been. But i always assumed that box would bolt straight to a M50 block. As its the same box on the M52 2.8?

    Awesome fab work man

Thanks for the positive feedbacks :)
The ZF gearbox do mount straight on, but since I have straightened up the engine I needed to reweld the clutch house and move it about 30degrees for it to be straight.

Awesome work. I love oddball engine swaps. Especially ones that take real work.
