hey all. i just bought a 200sx and am ready to go drifting!
    just had a few questions.
are helmets necessary at santa pod? essex area? norfolk area?
should i bring fuel cans to these circuits or are there petrol stations nearby?
if my car breaks down (touch wood) what would happen? i live around colchester so it could be a problem!
finally, can anyone reccomend any good workshops/mechanics around colchester?

i would recommend that as a beginner, you go to norfolk arena as there is nothing to hit really and you can get plenty of track time and tutoring, plenty of great people willing to help, mint tyres will be there also. helmets are advisory but not mandatory at this stage but will be later in the year. you can take fuel cans but there are some close petrol stations, if you break down it is easiest to use the AA or RAC or similar but if it comes to it im sure someone would help you out with a trailer. if you dont mind travelling a little, MNM engineering in strood, kent are 200sx/drift specialists.

cheers thanks for some of that info yassa!

to clarify i wouldnt really say i'm a total noob as ive done some drift days before including a drift experience day at santa pod where i managed to drift their non turbo r32 around the big track. ive also done some trackdays in australia where im from but its mandatory to wear helmets there. i was surprised no one wore any helmets at santa pod.

anyway this is the first car i've owned in the uk that will be used for drifting so im just curious about what stuff i need to bring/do and how stuff works over here.

also does anyone go to snetterton or brands hatch to drift?
