Renault 5 conversion ???

    Hi did anyone make a conversion with a 1.7 turbo Volvo engine on a Renault 5 ?Or does someone have one for sale?Pls contact me on 07759926586.Thanks.

    i think he wants to know how to fit the R5 GTT lump into a RWD 1.7 volvo..

    If this helps. All the renault engines use the same fwd box. We have fitted...
    1.4 8v from r5
    1.4 turbo from r5
    1.7 8v from r5
    1.8 16v from Clio 16v
    2.0 16v from megane
    2.0 16v from Clio 172

    All of them used the same gearbox and mounts. And he has a LSD modified box on a Clio 172 engine in a r5 at the moment.

    I don't think so, I read it that he wants to put a Volvo engine in a 5. The 1.7t engines in the 440's and 480's were Renault engines that Volvo stuck a turbo on, to be honest if it's in a 5 then I think your better of sticking with the 1.4 as it's so much more fun to drive (iv had over 10 gt turbos) get your self over to RTOC.org there's more info there than you will ever need.
