hey guys, if you've ever rode/ skated we need your support! For the past 20 years we've been campaigning for a decent permanant skatepark in oxford, but the council have been less than cool about letting us apply for land for a concrete park even though it will be funded entirely by locals Now we are in the final stages of the planning application but the powers that be need a big log of people that dont oppose it. it doesnt really matter where you come from in the u.k, just if you skate/ride, and can show your support by filling out a few words why you DONT oppose the skatepark, even if you say it'll make you more likely to visit oxford to visit the facility that'll be enough. Bit of info from yesterdays local rag.. Skating towards a brand new park (From Oxford Mail) It will only take a few minutes out of your day, but could make the world of difference to fellow skaters/ riders for years to come! heres the link to fill out... PublicAccess @ Oxford City Council: Comment on a Planning Application Many thanks for your time
We had similar problems with one that was applied for down my way years and years ago. I remember all of the forms and meetings and the like. This must have been 8 years ago now. We had a very good local park (which i know a lot of users on here used, the sittingbourne industrial estate one) which also gave a lot of support. Anyway i came home to visit my mothers house and picked my brother up for the local swimming pool. Turns out they did finally build it, as they said they would! So stick at it and keep on at them and hopefully it will pay off!
cheers for your support guys, keep it coming. we've had some amazing talent from this way over the years which is quite suprising considering how crap the facilities have been Some of the rippers from oxford. * Tom penny * Sean goff * tom watts * alex moul * lima eltham * Alex leech No doubt, if this park gets built theres gunna be one hell of a session! Once again, thanks for taking the time to help
took 10 years to get them to build a decent enough park here they built it on an old tennis court. it not just building it its about heath and safety and liability etc..
They'll find a reason to not approve it still. Tried to get a park down my way a few years back. We had over 2000 signatures in support. One woman opposed. Guess who won... But still, good luck! We are always in need of places to skate these day!
