nothings set in stone yet as to when and how were getting there but a few of us are going next year, would anyone else be interested in it?? we'll be going regardless but thought the more the merrier
dont get me wrong awesomefest is, well, awesome but if i had to choose itd be gatebil. plus im pretty sure they wont let them clash as dw will be wanting foreigners to come over
Iv been wanting to go the last 3 years but it's always clashed with some thing!! If it's not clashing in 2012 myself Matt and Alan have all said wel go. Maybe sort out a transporter and the fly out
when we was talking about it last night we mentioned u guys for the transporters haha BUT if portugal was 550 then norways gonna be a fortune!! i think we're planning on driving the daft cars there and hoping they survive. wuldnt be 'too' much driving then plus 2 ferries. if transporter + fly is viable then it probly is the best idea tho. would be pretty cool if a big group went over
I can't wait for this is going to be an epic trip, transporter and fly over would be a lot better than driving
also looking into sending cars in a container but havent a clue on costs at the minute. that would be better for when i bin the 350 and cant drive it home slide roadtrips will be messy next year!
The reason portugal is the price it is, is the ferry from portsmouth to santander is about £2500 return for freight! Id say the transport wouldnt be as bad going that way. It would still be more id say driving your own car over. No chance of container over that way id say, customs are tight, best to get it accross the boarder your self! Plus getting one container with two cars in over would be about the same price as driving a truck over.
I would suggest going in through Denmark and Sweden, roads are much better up there then if you go from Denmark and take the ferry to Larvik. The road up from there is single lane half way up, clogged with traffic all the time etc. The parking and camping options have improved greatly with the new track now, but they have become much stricter on the driving. So there's a limit to hooning as opposed to earlier year. But as those rules were also in effect this year, it hasn't changed THAT much. But expect a black flag or two if you start dirt dropping a lot. Also, Polo, if you decide to come, I'm definitely interestedin slapping a few cameras on the car
Clean ragin always wanted to go to this since i saw a feature on it in fast ford many moons ago but i have to bloody parade on the 12th of july!
