Well I know its not a drift car but after bumping into half of driftworks at the Autoshow this weekend I thought I'd give a final update on the little Be-1.

For those of you who don't know me I have a taste for .........well ugly cars :D

Well this was picked up from a barn just North of London about 3 years ago. It had sat there for close to 3 years, shortly after it was imported.

I fell for it straight away and as I was looking for a daily drive to cover the 5miles to and from work she was perfect. Cheap to insure, cheap to run, JDM as hell and different.

She is a very rare to the UK shores 1987 Nissan Be-1.

They were a trendy spin off from the Micra K10. The first from the Pike factory which also roled out the Pao, S-Cargo and Figaro.

She had silly low milage and was still in KM. Everything down to the stereo and speakers were standard.

So I'll let the pics do the talking :D Haters gonna hate, JDM lovers are gonna raise an eyebrow or two :D

Here she is as we found her, bled the brakes, new battrery and some oil and she started first time.

Got her home and gave her a damn good clean. A few tiny niggles but nothing too much. Decided to get some alloys on her straight away

As you can see the engine was pretty clean for an 87

I decided to give it some nice yellow bits under the engine care of SFS yellow hoses :D Painted the air pan to match too.

The first of a few stickers to come, this one to help with the 60mph max speed on the motorway :D

Rear 1987 specials being used as speakers were terrible, so:

A little mention in Banzai magazine made me smile, ignore the passenger

During a really bad outing to Ace Cafe the car decided to die in the middle of the carpark. The shame of it.

Got home to find engine was fubard!.

At the same time a good friend rolled his show winning K10 so I managed to source a cracking low milage engine with 5 sp gearbox for next to nothing.

Away with you 3 speed auto box!!!

Hello to 4speed manual with short shifter :D

The wheels just didnt suit it, now I was going down the dish dish and more dish route but I managed to find these uber rare Nissan Motorsport alloys over in Japan, with the help of JDM Garage they were boxed up and shipped to me. They survuved being in the docks during the Tsunami and got UK safe and sound. (No they don't glow in the dark).

Bad news was they rubbed like sods on my lowering springs, so I had to sort it out asap.

With the help of the boys from JDM again the rear arches were filled out a bit more :D
    [IMG]

Then legged it down to Julian at Garage-D to have the suspension sorted :D

Windows tinted recently and some stickers added. Bloody original Missbanzai sticker is in black so going for the stealth sticker look.
