Are SR and RB shifters the same?

    I hope not anyway! Basically I have a SR box in my R32 now but only had my old RB shifter around and as I thought they were the same I went to fit it to the SR box but when I did I could only get it into 1 gear. I think it is the shifter as I took the shifter out and I could select all gears with an extension bar.

    So can anyone confirm that all I need to do is get a SR shifter please!

    yep there different. I tried to fit a s13 b&m to my rb box and it didnt fit

    You can use an sr one in an rb box to get you out the poo but cant use them the other way round.

    Iv got a box of random RB gearbox bits, I have 3 or 4 shifters if you need one:thumbs:

    Ignore that, you need an sr shifter....lol

    Cant see why not, the rb,ca and sr box are the same apart the bellhousing, the rb25 box wouldnt fit but rb20 cant see why not.

    as polo put, they are 100 percent definetly different. ive made that mistake before.

    when i lost my rb20 shifter somewhere i tried one from my old smashed sr20det box and worked fine...
