im a little confused, got a big engine to fit in a small bay lol, maybe im reading the rules and regs wrong or im just a retard but how far back is it possible to have my engine, like ideally i need one cylinder behind the original firewall, as im reading/if correctly it says this...

No part of the engine block may cross the vertical threshold of the original firewall into the transmission tunnel

can anyone shed some light for me?

You wont be able to put the engine as far back as you want, kind of self explanatory :)

Out of interest, what was you thinking of fitting? Straight sixes, V8s, and V12s go in on stock bulkhead E30s (or at least stock enough!).

IF you attend the logging day on 20th April at Teesside your car will be eligable to compete in the BDC for the next 2 seasons with a modified bulkhead. So really, it depends if you'll be attending the logging day and if you're bothered about it not being up to regs in 2 years time.

thats great lozza, sorry if i sounded dumb! being as the car builds only just started theres not a chance of seeing logging day! at least I havent done anything with the bulkhead as o yet, shame im going to have to scrap the engine and have a re-think

iv had a big six, 3.5litre in my old e30 and i was never really happy with the weight distribution, felt too front heavy. the jag engine is about an inch longer but i feel its going to weigh the front down. it also would need some heavy modifications to the sump. i need the engine 4inches behind the bulkhead to make things work
