    Hello,

The Middlesex Motor Club have arranged to run a AutoSolo Gymkhana style course at Bovingdon Airfield on Sunday 29th April. Its a relaxed, full of sideways style event. Any local lads are welcome to come and compete.

Those who came last year in August will remember how much fun these type of events can be. Last time the surface was fairly rough which meant drivers went through tires at a tremendous rate, but I have been told by a fellow organiser that the surface this time will be smooth tarmac . All kinds of car's competed last time from MK 2 Escort's to all kinds of S body's, which made it great for spectators.

The price is £35 for a full day which includes membership which is needed to compete. The cheapest form of compeditive motorsport around. No racesuits or roll cages needed!Bring plenty tires and fuel. :D The maximum amount of cars to enter is 60. Payment will be accepted on the day. £20 for members, and £35 for non-members.

The programme for the event will be ; Scrutineering starts at 8.45 am.
Any competitor not signed on by 10.15 am may be excluded. The first car will start at 10.30 am.

MSA Permit Number 70544 has been issued.
The event will consist of 3 classes as follows:

AA Drivers who have not competed on more than two tarmac auotests or two AutoSOLOs.
AB Drivers who have not won more than one award, other than novice or ladies, on a tarmac Autotest or an AutoSOLO.
    AC All other drivers.

Note that all Junior Drivers (those aged 16/17) and those without a full RTA licence must drive a saloon car. All vehicles must be road legal and driven to the event.

    Awards will be as follows:-

    FTD An award
    Best Harrow An award
    1st in Class An award
2nd in Class (subject to 7 entries) An award

    The Secretary of the event is;
    Peter Cox, 19A Oxford Street, Lambourn, Berks, RG17 8XS tel: 01488 72027
    email: drpeter.cox@virgin.net

Clerk of the Course – Peter Cox, - tel 01488 72027,
    email: drpeter.cox@virgin.net
16 b) Each driver will have at least two runs at each test, the slowest time being discounted for awards.
17 Marking and penalties will be as Table M 7 for AutoSOLOs.
20 M 13.4 A vehicle may be entered up to 3 times by 3 different drivers

If your interested pm me and I will send you the regs and an entry form, or email me atjamesmansfield79@yahoo.co.uk or email the organiser Chris Keys at chris-keys@fsmail.net

Here is a great video our friends from Souldrifting.com made from one of last year's events.

I have just asked that question mate to an organiser, and it is perfectly fine to bring the car on a recovery truck or trailer your car.

It's located just outside the village of Bovingdon in Hertfordshire on the B4505 between Chesham and Hemel Hempstead. It is easily accessible and approximately fifteen minutes drive from either the M25 Junction 20 or M1 Junction 8.

Yea Tony this year I am told it will be a smooth surface  Shame my 86 wont be ready in time, ahh well I can always use the e30 320 of doom :wack:

Oh basically on one run matey told time control he was going to not follow the designated route (do a massive entry) ,and the marshall on the other end was not informed and got pissed off. Follow the course and you will be fine. Last time was 3rd gear stuff, so it got exciting :)
