Right folks, since some people moaned at me for breaking my E10 all the time and for the its ghetto spec nature (and the fact that I couldn't get more than 10 degree of steering lock out of it) I decided to get my self a DIB As an out the box kit I honestly cannot flaw it! Everything fitted together nicely and i've had no problems setting it up A mate of mine got out of the RC game (temporarily I hope) so I brought the electrics for it off of him. It runs a HPI 'Flux' 13.5T brushless motor and speedo (D1RC legal yo!) and an Ansmann 2.4Ghz unit The steering servo is Alturn USA and seems to be a pretty responsive unit. I haven't yet got my competition shell for this but I have got the sitting pretty shell I brought a Mk1 Ford Escort as a signitures shell as I was going to Formula Drift Atlanta (which was sick! Thanks for asking!) and it got a slightly better response from the drivers there than I had initially anticipated :O It also came with the Minilite wheels which I think suit the chassis quite nicely I'm afraid to say i've conformed with my competition shell and got a JZX100 :$ It'll be blue and white to match the chassis and will be sitting on white Dorihero rims It should be coming some time this week
Thanks, its worlds apart from my E10, no amount of upgrades would have made the car as good as the DIB It was £291 with £43 shipping and then £60 VAT... Well worth it though!
Just for reference (for others, not to dig at your Ricardo!) I can supply them for a little less than that.
yeah you got them in the week after mine had been delivered! I could have cried haha! Your stocking Overdose parts for them aren't you?
Will be, yes but currently not... however I can order them in! Placing an order with Japan on Friday if you wanted anything, drop me a PM.
Oh ok cool I'll probably be looking at getting something after O2 What body shells do you have? CML just cancelled my order on the JZX
Right Quick update I've been tidying the car up in time for Wimbledon I've redone the name plates and put on new back wheels And left a little message for y'all It was either that or 'Eat Shit Die Slow' like Ryan Tuerck's missile car lol It's also been treated to a new set of shoes: Falken Azenis RT615 reps for the ultimate geek spec skidding Hope to see you all at Wimbledon
Hello my kind friend I was so excited when you told me that you had bought the DIB and it really nice to see the finished product and the great job that you have done on it You should be proud of your efforts so far and this is an inspiration for me getting my DRB soon Looking forward to seeing some vids soon my friend
Thanks man, i'm really glad you like it! A vid should be coming in the next couple of days hopefully Good luck with your DRB build i'm looking forward to hearing all about it and thanks for saying this has been inpiring to you! The Yokomo kits go together amazingly you'll really enjoy it
so yeah, I made it up to Drift Allstars Wimbledon in the end As soon as we got there Mitto kindly pointed out the flaws in the car and subsequently fixed them (cheers dude!) he also lent me a set of Yokomo R2 tyres to use for the afternoon, which I must admit are much better than their HPI counter parts! I came an impressive 6th (out of 6th) and had a blast at the event It was really good day It was also nice to be able to leave the Yokomo alone for a while. With my E10 when it wasn't on the track (which was most of the time) I was having to fix it/ tune it/ shout at it/ throw it at things. Anyways I got a few pictures Roll on the next one!
had the droop screws in, wrong shock positions and not enough camber... I'm going to play around with my camber a bit once i've put the R2s as I think theres a bit too much on there at the moment :L
I've pretty much found with my DIB that the more camber, the better. I'm yet to back it off at all to be honest
Ok cool, let's me lower the shell I suppose I'll have a play around with it though just to see where it's comfortable
Do Street Jam bodies come with the decals? It doesn't say on RC Rcae and Drift Looking at getting an S14
Get one of the Yokomo S14s (S14 or S14a depending which one you want). The Yokomo shells are far more details and stronger too...
