Right u was driving back from dropping my partner off at work last night heading home. I was going thru a we town at 30mph as the police had just pulled out behind me. So when i was about to get to the town centre and I swerved too miss a pot hole in the road. ( a crater ). Looked in the mirror and saw the police swerving a swell. 2seconds later I here and see the blue lights. So I pull over and get out to see what the hell I have done wrong. So to police officers get out and ask too see my licence. I ask him what am I getting pulled for and he replies dangers driving. I looked at him confused and asked him when and where. He tells me that I dangerously swerved across the road. Bare in mind I was doing 30mph there was no other traffic and or ppl walking. So I let him carry on and I gave up arguing the point as I was getting nowhere with him. So he give me the pink slip 6points £80 fine. Then to make the maters wurse the prat then starts to right me a new ticket for parking on a stagerd lines before a crossing. He pulled me over there and there was no where else to stop as it was a town centre. He gave me 3points and a 6 pound fine. Am going to contest it but can they really get away with this. It was not the traffic cops And they only pulled out behind me 100yards before I swerved the pot hole I was in the evo. What are your thoughts on this one.
The address thing is rubbish, they are allowed to make 'slip' errors. Mate if you genuinely believe you have a case get some specialist motoring solicitor advice to contest the tickets. I am not saying it'll be successful, but the parking one is taking the piss.
Like said go the legal route. i got done many years ago for zig zags although i wasnt parked on them, only my rear bumper was in the space, his word were you no its bla bla bla, then in another breath have you got any points,i said no, he said get in my car then.£60 3 points later.nothing but a crook,he was a traffic cop though and Ive picked up a couple of jnormal cops and they even hate them lol. Good luck mate
Defo not. I was on my best behavier as the kids were in the car with me. Don't get me wrong I was biting my tung
That is harsh on so many levels, I would say in court you had no other choice to pull an evasive manuva to avoid to what can only be described as a danger not only mechanically to your vehicle but more importantly a danger to the safety of you an your children you had on board at the time. go down first thing to the pot hole location take pictures of it, include pics of you measuring the depth of the hole and if you can pic of other motorist being forced to menuver around it. Then report it to your local council of they demo it to be unsafe an needs retifying get it in writing an use it in court. An note that the police officers in question had to pull the exsact same menuver as you, not only that but it was them who asked you too pull over on lines an once out the vehicle they did not request you to park further down but were happy to inspect your vehicle there not only that but proceed to give you a ticket for that said offence when intact you were just following there instructions to pull over immediately
Thanks you just saved me about £300 of lawyer fees. I will get down tomorrow 1st thing before the road gets busy. I just can't get over how they could get away with doing it. Am lucky that when I told my boss he burst into laughter and told me that I can youse his lawyer and he will help me with the fees.
im could be incredibly wrong but... i heard that recently things have changed with the police in terms of traffic offences.. ie; only traffic officers are aloud to give out such tickets like dangerous driving and not your normal boby.. probly wrong but i am interested to know, hope this gets sorted tho.. cops are usually hella sweet once they see hgv on your licence so sounds like he was being a cock
This is pretty much what I was gonna say. Are you sure it's dangerous driving? I didn't think that was an on the spot fine, usually do you for driving without due care, as dangerous driving is subjective and can be difficult to prove. I would definately contest it, I damaged a pair of wheels years ago, and many letters went backwards and forwards with the local council and they told me I should have driven round the potholes, even if it meant going into the oposing lane, ( I won and got plenty of money back thanks to a mate at the wheel suppliers!). WO wo wo!!! You got 9 points on one stop check?! That ain't right mate. 1. Police can't issue more than one FPN (3pts) at road side 2. Read 1. Something ain't right here.
They rote me too different tickets. One for dangers driving and one for stoping on a the staggered lines at a crossing. I was tempted to go to the papers with it but not sure if It will make things worse. What do you mean there not aloud to give out too different penalty notices.
So I take it they have made a epic fuck up then. I hope what you are saying is true. Evan tho I have a clean licence I can't afford they kinda points.
Only one fpn can be issued. If they want to do you for multiple offences they have to report you. However if they gave you one endorsabke fpn for dangerous driving and one fpn (non endorsable) that's a possibility, I can't quite remember. So it would only be 3 points not 6 for driving offence And Parking offence is just a fine £30 should be. Dangerous driving in a ticket I've never seen Can you take a pic and upload. Pm me it for confidentiality if you prefer
