mx5 clutch slipping ????

    Hi peeps ive just fitted a 1.8 welded diff to my mx5 went ok but am not sure if the clutch is slipping ill be driving a 30 mph in 3rd ill put my foot down and the revs raise like the cars not in gear i dont think it was spinning the wheels cause i tryed it in 5 and it did the same thing any help.

    Sounds like you need a new clutch unfortunately.

    with you fitting a welder thats why you've noticed it normally it would spin one wheel !

    great should i fit a uprated unit now ive fitted a welder.

    nar stick to a standard one aslong as its new you dont have enough power to effect it :)

    at what point do 1.6 clutch fail? i have 3x stock clutch to rape through first but i have just made my own turbo conversion. just waiting on intercooler weldings and i need to pull my flange out for the 5th injector setup

    and what is a good upgrade for 150-200hp?

    150-200 i would say turbo/charger youll not be far of ! if your going down the turbo route then whilst your doing it get a decent clutch imo
