Hi just wondering what’s the bhp/torque limit on a stock 1jz vvti engine ?? mans also what’s the limit on the r154 gearbox ??
one of the oldest debates out there probably. the power limits of a JZ. I know people running 600bhp on an unopened 1j but from what ive read when building mine 500bhp is the 'safe' reliable level. The box doesn't like it at the torque youll be running apparently but not sure. im going to run mine around 450 hopefully and when (not if) the box rails I will rebuild it rather than going 530d

I thought the gearbox may be the deciding factor, I was hoping to get up to the 500hp Mark, I’m not going to be ripping it on a drift track or beating on it everyday so r take my chances, I used to have a s14 and they say 350bhp for the gearbox’s on them but there’s people running 400hp+
