So I took my motor (1JZ-GTE) out of my JZX90 for a full rebuild and now im trying to reconnect all the wiring loom, vacuum lines and water lines etc etc. problem is I dont have a clue where all this shit belongs. Tube coming off of the butterfly valve? {} Water pipe coming out of the head? {} Another bigger one on the intake {} I guess this little fella is an earthing point? got another one bolted to the intake manifold but dont know where this one goes {} T piece splitter and the small tube next to it? {} Pretty sure this is a HKS/GREX brand oil cooler kit but not sure {} Anyone recognise this type of sandwich plate? not sure if I've connected the 2 short AN lines the correct way around, or even if that matters? {} Better shot showing the way the lines are currently installed {} Maybe im being stupid, but where does the negative wire terminal go? {} small air pipe at the back of the head, behind the lifting hook {} The pipe Im holding onto and the nipple its weaving around? {} This little upright hardline? {} small T-piece under the diag box? {} both of these vacuum ports? {} the vacuum port im pointing to? {} The hose coming off the fuel return? {} the hose and the unused port on the power steering pump? {} Sorry its so pic heavy, if anyone can help me put this mess back together it would be a massive help, or find me a complete diagram cause I cant seem to find much that has ALL the answers. Thanks in advance!
Cant help with most of that stuff but I can deffo tell you that's not the Grex/Trust oil cooler. I think your closer with the HKS This is the Grex manual. It might give you some clues about the plate that bolts to the engine after that it should be easy to work out the rest. Here is a repair manual for JZ's you might be able to track down those hose connections with this. http://www.xchassis.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=57
what do you mean coolant ports? like they should have water going to them? surely it would just flood the intake with water? can I just block them off?
some throttle bodies or Idle air control valves have coolant lines going to them to warm them up the idea being it wont freeze closed and if it does it'll quickly thaw. Edit: found this map online I think this will clear up most stuff intake side. {}
Picture 1 - Vacuum line fitting - goes to one of the two nipples on the power steering pump. On the other nipple, needs to be a vacuum line after the throttle body. Used to held prevent engine from stalling when you are turning the wheel at idle. (I see that from last picture this second vacuum line is already connected) Picture 2/3 - I believe these two connect together for water feed into the throttle body. The other end of the throttle body has a short almost 90o hose to a hard line. Picture 4 - I have both Intake earths hooked up to the same point, one on top of the other. Picture 5 - Can't help as I'm not running a blow off valve Picture 6/Oil lines - Could be wrong but it looks like the central oil line (feed) on the block is going to the return fitting of the sandwich plate? Give me a shout if you need a hand, I've just rebuilt my 1jzgte and got the car running a few days ago.
