Ya that's what I was thinking about the bender, the bender I had is gone back so I have to try and find someone with a proper one with the right dies!
But this is proving difficult, iv rang all the tool hire places in the county I live and no one has the correct dies!:S
So now I have to start looking at engineering places, I don't particularly want to this because I don't have the money!:S

Mate of mine bought one recently dude, reckons he paid less than €200 for it. He uses it for making cages etc, just packs the tube with sand first and away he goes, no kinks either! Ill find out where he got it for ya!

I'm back with a bit of an update!

I started working on the chassis, I have a little bit done!

Im happy enough with the welding, Id prefer it to be more consistent tho!:S
    [IMG]

The two floor sections will be connected with the tunnel and other bits like the rollcage and the rear spaceframe so it will hopefully be rigid!
    I still haven't located a tube bender!

I ordered a few bits and bobs first of which arrived today!:D

Please please please try to get that intercooler behind the front panel. I mean you can basically put the engine as far back as you like so why not go back a bit more with it. Either that or get yourself a thick but not very tall rad and chop this intercooler down so you can have one above the other behind the grille. Will look so much nicer than stuck on the front like a wart?

Chassis looks like its a winner though and should really help stop the shell twist that you may get with that sort of engine in a mini lol

Yes I feel the same way, it really isn't great looking!:S
But I cant fit it in the engine bay, that's why I was looking at charge coolers!

You dont need an intercooler that large mate. And if you can't fit an intercooler in there is no way you would fit all the pipe work. Pump. Heat exchanger. Rad. Resovoirs etc in for a charge cooler.

Ya I sapose you have a point there!

But I really can't afford to push the engine any further back, I got this intercooler because it was cheap!:p
It was less than €100 so I'm not too concerned about damaging it!
    Ya I know it's huge!:S

I think I might have to relocate the waste gate abit further from my feet, at the present position it would be in the way!

Now these f*cking things are getting anoying!!!!!!
The first holesaw I bought lasted me a few months, got another one notched one tube and got to notching a second and it just wouldnt cut, so brought it back got it replaced. The replacement one lasted a few hours and stoped cutting again, a bit baffled went to talk to the person in the shop about it.
I did notice on both blunt saws all the teeth where bent in, compaired it to a mew one and the teeth where one in next one out and so on and so on! So iv come to the conclusion that is my problem! So if anyone knows how to solve this PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Anyway thats my rant over, I will be back with another update soon!

try a coolant and a slower cutting speed with the holesaw (both rotational and through)

this might be a daft idea.... but how much space have you goin in the passenger side inner wing?? Would you be able to mount the IC there where the factory mini rad used to sit??? if you can, this would be a better option to hanging it out the front....

that's a very good idea, but ya I could get one in there but I don't think I could get enough air to it!
That's why I was thinking of a charge cooler! That may work!

Nice bit of ducting from the front pannel to feed an enclosed IC ;) Kind of like a cooling fan shrowd for a radiator but in reverse.... also neaten things up in the bay too!
