Ok bit off topic for driftworks, but took a few images of my new paint job on my avus blue M3, the sun came out and it just came back out of storage so took the chance to take a few images, so thought I would share with you guys, if its not your kinda thing please don't comment, its not a drift car its my mint car which I want to own for next 20 years
The paint was fairly expensive, also the clear coat is very special, its so deep the images don't give the colour justice, there is loads of purple that the camera seems to not really see in the haze lol
i mint e36 is a rarity, but when they do crop up I love them. nice work, paint job looks stunning even on the pictures
Thanks guys, extremely happy with how its came out. Going to Gaydon BMW show in Aug, so want to have it on display by then
Loveley paint job. more of a question as it may be the angle of the shot, but the bootlid looks slightly out of line to the rear quarters, but i can imagine with the ocd this car will get (going on past work) it will get alighned properly
Boot has been off for paint, none of the panels have been properly aline other the The doors, its still work in process, will be perfection once done. :-) good eye though mate, glad peope see things I do too.
I look at that Beemer and think, that's what mine looked like when it came out the factory and before I got abused! Looks gorgeous though. Any reason why you choose Avus Blue and not some other colour?
Well main reason was I looked for this car for years, I wanted an early 3.0ltr Avus blue as I remember seeing them when I was young and being one of the fastest things on the road, I've always wanted an AVUS blue because of that reason, I could have bought any e36 and changed the colour but it was important it was original colour for the restoration. I would do a project thread on here about the car but I think no one would be interested in my OCD-ness lol
The car looks lovely. I've only had my M3 for 3 days and i love the thing. I can see why people are such big fans of them.
Avus blue is the tits, ive got a 328 sport touring in avus blue getting a 3.0 m3 lump put in it. cant wait to drive it
looks lovely. may i ask how much a paintjob like this costs roughly? atleast £2500? i dont really have a clue when it comes to paint i only see paint jobs on TV shoiws or the 400 quid crazy dave resprays ha
