Hi Guys how much support would there be for a Drift event in Cumbria this coming September probably the last weekend it would be a two day event ,,, Bish
ooo sounds interesting, we have 3 cars that would probably go and a couple of friends who would also be interested
Doubt my car will be ready in time but plenty of us WRC boys will come and watch, we should all be back from OZ by then.
EVENT UPDATE This is happening on the 28th & 29th September which unfortunately is the grand opening of Driftland which I am sure was in no intention of clashing more than likely it's the only date they could get for this new venue. Straightliners are a awesome bunch of people they have made Smeatharpe a much better event for us southwesters. Anyway Straightliners have just asked me to run the track at Kirkbride airfield so who wants a weekends worth of drifting? All I know so far is it's similar venue as Smeatharpe and we have 2 days to run it. The rules will be the same as we run at Smeatharpe so upto 4 cars on track and can be twinning or in a 4 car train if they are advanced enough and the track is not too fast. I have no idea what the surface is like and only 2 weeks to make a plan of action so would be looking for a crew of marshal's to help with the weekend and setting up on the Friday. A tyre van would be good although I appreciate real late notice. How many drifty locals are there around this area? A few I can see posted up on here: can we rally some troops to make this work? Get a tyre van sorted etc?
Yes it will be fine for beginners, hopefully there's enough room to put in a playpen like Smeatharpe. It's not going to be very busy so you'll get silly amounts of seat time although no tyre van there atm.
