Well I bought the car of missis dad who bought it off someone who had tried to do the 24v granda engine in and failed he fixed it up and I saw it sit in his workshop for months until he finally let me have it :)

This is what it looked like then:

I had already decided to race the car before so I got some safety features:

That's collecting the cage then fitting:

Fitted some seats and harnesses at the same time:

Coil overs to stop the Wobblyness:

Then we did the rest of the season last race and the alternator let her down:(

After that I made a few purchases the first was a trailer after the nightmare of getting her home with a broken alternator

Then the season ended was time for a full build:

    She got new wheels :)

nice car, and this forum is fine cos its an interesting build.
I wonder aloud though, have you fitted a whale tail with the c pillars still in place or have the body shop removed them to convert to cossie like full rear windows?
I would advise to not fit the whale tail if they are still there as it will never look right. fit the xr4i spoiler instead as it will be more unusual and that is what it is. if the pillars are removed, happy days, full cossie look.
ford actually made less xr4i pillar'd shells than cossie and regular shells so they are therefore rarer.
yes that is mind blowingly anal ford information and it worries me why I even know it..

Haha this comment actually made me laugh towards the end :) and cheers for the forum bit I thought it was worthy its been a duck load of effort and hours so far

The pillars and still in m8 however I do have a rs500 whale tale to go on I do agree with you that it does look odd when you look at them side on with the funny windows I chose not to take them out for the exact reason that there are less xr4i shells about that there are rs500 well registered on the road anyway,

The reason for not fitting the xr4i spoiler is they found when they raced it at brands it actually caused uplift rather than down lift front wheels were coming of the floor mayhem commenced etc. lol

so this is why I am going to run funny windows with huuuuugh whale tale spoiler that weighs almost more than I do
