    They aren't open diffs are they? Aren't they E-diffs that are crazy clever?

    Nah open.

    Can't see a car like that needing one, no owner is going to do donuts in it and the computers systems are that clever they can distribute the power evenly if you wanna do a drift. Crap though!

    Fucking hell it's ugly too.

    To distribute the power evenly between the two rear wheels powered by driveshafts and a diff, you need to chuff about with the brakes.

    It is an open diff, but the whole thing about open diffs is that the torque is split 50:50. So to emulate a locking diff, you can brake the inside wheel to offer some resistance, and it will cause the outside wheel to gain more torque.

    It is the faux e-diff like what you get in the BMW M135i.

    That's what I mean, with the brakes.
    I thought the M135 had a proper diff!

    We were talking about these exact 2 things in the office yesterday, weird.
