Had this a couple weeks now. Picked it up off Olly while visiting some fam in London, saw it up for sale and loved it.... except the wheels! Borrowed some wheels off mates only to find two were flat once fitted on the car. Good thing Olly had some R33 GT-R wheels I could grab off him for a good price. Drove it home (to Somerset) without any issues other than a wonky idle. Been dailying it since. Car runs great, idle's now fixed, was the vac pipe from the inlet piping to the plenum kinked up. Replaced it with another pipe and it works a treat. First purchase was the LED lights. Only know of a few sets around and love the way they look on a red car. Only other thing I have done so far is fit my Nardi and mess about with the wheels setup. Main plans if/when I have money are handling upgrades/more lock etc. Pics as it is currently: Meisters to go on the rear soon but the arches need a bit (fuckload) of work. It's actually got better ground clearance now than on standard wheels, much more solid feeling when driving too. Massive thanks to my mates Nath, Aaron and Will for various help with lending wheels/changing tyres/arch rolling and general entertainment while working on it so far!
Not another Floyd, you've had more s bodies than me. Didn't see in the spec but if you want I have godspeed arb's for sale with new drop links.
Thanks Looks wise, navan skirts, kouki spoiler, black headlights and if I could ever afford one, a GRacer lip. As for the other stuff, hopefully some good handling upgrades, custom and stuff
nice car ebay america have replica lips and they still work out cheaper than the greddy lips even with postage! work out about 250 i think as i priced one up.
Ah that's cool, cheers man I will check them out. Or alibaba, cheap copies of everything on there haha. I'm off work for a week now so may manage to get the rear meisters fitted
I saw this for sale a while back and seriously considered buying it. I was like you, loved the car, but hated the wheels. Good to see it's on its way to looking perfect!
Thanks man I discovered why I've had a creaking coming from one of the rear wheels.... Eight of ten spokes cracked right through on R33 GT-Rs. Haven't been using the car a lot this week as I have been off work, I'm desperate to get my other meisters fitted this weekend now!
Done some cuts Needed about 30mm, maybe more as I plan to go lower in the future. Trim trim Sperky sperks The work so far. Each side cut about an inch in from the lip edge, similar to tubbing I suppose though I want to keep the standard arches, just rolled a lot! Got my old shell to cut the spare metal out of. Reason I have done this is to roll the outer lip of the arch rather than the inner, I want as much room as possible.
not a bad way to do it... but you know when you weld those in place (please tell your gonna weld them), itll bubble the paint on the outside and probably warp the metal, so you may end up having to fill and repaint your rear quarters
Thanks, I'll take that into consideration! The rest of the paint work could do with some tlc anyway so a few more rough bits probably won't notice for the time being. My old arches out my scrap shell may come in use yet! Managed to blag the use of an arch roller for tomorrow so can get the shape right, then depending on whether my mate has the free time/gas/wire I will hopefully have it welded midweek with some brush-on underseal for the time being.
Thanks Need to make the back end a whole lot stiffer, anyone know where I can em get stiffer springs?
Got back about 9pm last night, managed to adjust the preload, then ride height as it was monster truckin' on the back. Painted the wheels (again only a temporary measure) and also the wiper arms as they were looking pretty sorry for themselves and I had some paint left over. Bad pictures but will get some DSLR ones tonight, maybe clean it if I can get it up the lane where my Dad lives. Long shot haha. Notice the o/s reversed sideskirt too, not mounted the n/s yet as I don't have an end cap for it but may stick it on anyway. Speaking of end caps, does anyone want to swap a n/s kouki skirt end cap for an o/s one? I got a pair but they're both n/s!
