Hi! So, I've been lurking on here for a LONG time now and have seen some really cool builds now I'm about to start on one of my own. So, due to a trade I'm picking up a Merkur XR4Ti it needs quite a bit but after sitting in the shop (they deal exclusively with XR4Ti and Scorpio's) I was staring at a Scorpio having a ground up restoration. Would you think a scorpio front end would fit a sierra? They seem awfully close..
Just a bump because I added a few pics.. The car has a destroyed T9 and as such (these were the only cars sold in the US to come with t9's and they are quite rare) I will either be converting it to a T5 or Mazda M5OD. The Merkur already has a welded diff and as you can see is quite gutted! The plan is for it to see drift duty for my friends and I. I wish I could find a Volvo B234f head for the 2.3 or that we ever got the DOHC cosworth head but for now it will just have the stock 2.3 until I can finish my 2.3t ranger and build my spare 2.3t with another Holset for this.
If you meen front end panel work, the Scorpio stuff is physically bigger. Although mechanically they are very similar.
Yes sorry.. I mean the front end panel work. I tried doing some searching online but could only find a information on front suspension differences. The front fenders (wings I believe you call them) appear to match the lines almost perfectly but I did notice a few different pick up points on the front frame rails and core support although they seem largely the same. Has anyone ever done anything like this before? A Granada front clip on a Sierra?
Are you located in the states? You should get quite alot of parts for the 2.3, fuck the volvo head, far too much hassle and a cossie head wont fit the 2,3 im quite sure.
Yep I'm in the States 15 minutes from Chicago actually. I know the guys on my turbo Ford Ranger forum have made over 400whp out of ported late model dual plug heads but the go to head for power out here without dropping 3k on an Esslinger ARCA head is still the B234f head. I thought the cossie head was ran on the 2.0 variant of the pinto engine?
