Hi all, I'm building a drift car and I am thinking of doing an engine swap with a car with a blown engine.... Problem is that I have no idea where to buy/look a car with a blown engine and I would really appreciate if you could leave links to websites In addition when doing an engine swap do you need the transmission that comes with the engine. EG: Buying an RB26DETT with the transmission. Thank you and have a nice day!
Isn't that the same question you asked on another post? Do what everyone else does, search ebay and forums
^this. I have an a Tiptronic altezza for sale, It doesn't have a blown engine but I can run it without oil until it does if you want that?
Look man, I searched so many websites, adding keywords ALL THE TIME. Searching websites specifacly for this topic. BUT THEY WOULD NOT COME UP! So if you don't have the answer, then do not reply. As for the other question, yes I know i'm a new when it comes to engine swaps, no one becomes a pro at a subject instantly. So don't blame me for being useless at a topic I am new to.
For your budget you will not be able to swap a jz into anything unless its a cardboard box, still be a struggle. If you don't have a clue then why do you want to carry out a conversion? Like the noises they make on youtube? For a third of your cash you could easily buy a 36 and learn. Then build something better.
Settle down you fucking tard, no-one here to stroke your fragile ego. You were actually offered some genuinly decent advise, which you still chose to ignore. If you don't know what you're doing, then you probably should be doing it. You're not talking about messing around with scrap yard VW's, you're going to be ploughing well over 10 grand into the project - of which you have no fucking clue where to even start. So maybe sit back, wind your neck in and have a re-think yea???
They come up very rarely, but I once bought a black 1 owner s14a auto from an Nissan main dealer for less than 1K a few years back. Prices have risen since then, so I would have thought it is actually cheaper to buy a fully running car and sell on the engine gearbox/ turbo separately to make the most money back.
Also, if it is your first engine conversion make sure you do something that has been done many times before and don't go too big or you'll end up with 10k of bits and no running car.
