Ok so I have an rb25 (or at least thats what it should be!) gearbox with an adapted bellhousing to fit my sr20. Have the box stripped and the sychros and gearhub on 3rd are shafted and could do with a new gear as teeth are chipped. Trying to source parts but having a nightmare as I have no idea what car it originally came out of Im assuming a skyline gts?? Nissan want chassis numbers to search for parts then probably want to put a mask on and point a gun at me for payment! Anyways I have a few questions! Are ratios all the same in rb25det boxes? How Can I tell its an rb25det box? Is there anyway of swapping from a triple cone synchro to single cone? (this was suggested by the gearbox rebuilder as a possible upgrade) If so can these parts be nicked from another vehicle? Is the rb25det box the same as a gtr box internally minus the transfer box? Have seen this on a few forums but need a definite yes/no. And finally can anyone supply me new parts without having to go through nissan? Upgraded or standard? Thanks in advance for the help.
