its dead simple, so, in a word, yes.

be the 1st in the UK too i think, would make a cool looking drifter.

as long as you WANT a drift car that is.

just converting it to RWD wont make it a drift car, but it will make it a RWD scooby, so thats a start at least, lol.

    Scroll down on here...

Cant remember which jap company it is, but they sell the RWD conv bits and also had some vids of their RWD scooby drifting.

Well being RWD means youl put a LOT less stress on the box now, so you might find the stock box is suddenly unburstable.

True. I was thinking of rebuilding it with either dog cut gears. but someone told me that straight cut gears are just as strong. what would you recomend?

Not the first im afriad :D

Mate of mine has done a couple now, parts are from OZ the cheapest.

One weakness is the rear diff though, so look at that when your pricing up.

Oh and the first one he did was a EJ20 turbo Legacy Estate ;)

Biggest problem will be getting lock on the front as they are not the best.

Maybe a coilover conversion without the driveshaft hubs would improve it

hypoluxa is converting his type R to rwd as we speak.
The R180 in the type R is slightly stronger as is the box I believe.
The R200 off the nissans I guess would need a custom diff carrier/subframe making.

I would like to see one getting busy in the uK.

    rwd impreza

dude you need to beef up the diff and drive shafts as imprezas run smaller shafts on the back so you would break em every other day the best is to convert to skyline diff and shafts hubs etc etc from GTR be very careful who you take advice from as some people on here dont have a clue what the fuck they are on about

and there are a few rwd scoobs about in the uk

nd it dont matter what you do 4wd ff or fr at 320 ft/lb the 5 speed box falls apart

Research from hypoluxa shows that the drop gears fail a lot on the 5 speed boxes with power through them - the 6 speed from the newer cars is said to be a lot better

I`ve heard the newer 6spd box needs some modding to fit the earlier cars?

no the 6 speed box needs no mods to fit you'r car as the sti 8 o3 reg i built at work. has an early close deck block but the twin plate clutch and 6speed box bolted straight on the 6 speed has more bolt holes but thats not a drama and thats about it but you will pay in excess of a 1grand for one unless you one lucky motherf**ker

any more scooby questions you got pm me as i build high horsepower scoobs for a living

You also seem to think your the man for a living too :D

A Pic of my mates first RWD scoob after a 130mph curb to N/S wheel and balljoint seperation moment.

    DSC00084.

If anyone i seriously intrested in RWD'ing a scoob he still has the box etc from that car, but if you want to start from scratch i can pass on the details for all the relevent parts needed and where to get em from. Also said mate is part of one of the UK's biggest Scumeru tuners so he'd be more than happy to build one for you .
