Buxton Raceway Drifting is back again for 2016.

For those who don't know about Buxton please read and even if you have been before there are some changes so well worth reading.

March 2016 will be held on the 12th and 13th. You can attend just one day or as many regulars do make a weekend of it.

    Cost is:
£10 entry to the circuit. This is for everyone. Drivers, Passengers and spectators.
£30 a day to drive (always plenty of seat time)
    £10 a day to be a passenger.

No need to prebook. Pay on the day.

There is a tyre van onsite and tyre changes are included in the price. You only need to pay for tyres (although you can bring your own) and disposals. The tyre Van is run by Dave Mittell a regular of Buxton. Please don’t just bring one set of rims though. Be sensible and don't abuse this. The tyre van does get busy so have other rims and tyres ready with you so you can get the most seat time.

Camping onsite is allowed and a lot of the regulars do. This year the Bar has had a refit and looks totally different. Food will be available from the Bar and Burger van at the venue. The Bar is open till late on a Saturday night and through the day on both days (but no drinking and drifting during the day though. Any drinking during the day should be left to spectators and passengers only during the day). Staying over the weekend and socialising in the bar is the best time to meet everyone and talk about the day.

Wall Bangers and Missiles... Buxton has become well known for being a car killer and really there is no need for this. The typical Missile and Wall Banger while good to practice in has been taken a step too far. So starting this year we are asking all drivers to make an effort! Some of our regulars bring very clean and well setup cars and there is no reason if they can make the effort, the rest of you can’t. What we mean by this is at the start of every weekend we would like cars to look like cars and have functioning brake lights. Get a hammer out, zip ties, duct tape whatever is necessary but the attitude of I’ve not even bothered since I last hit the wall, wont be tolerated. If your unsure ask. Please make an effort! This doesn’t mean if you hit the wall your going home! It means get back to the pits secure any panels ect and carry on but when you get home take a little bit of time and effort to repair it. This isn't banger racing. We have specialised days for this!

All cars must not have any sharp edges, all panels be secure. It is recommended you fit towing straps or tow eyes to help get your car off the track quickly in the event of a break down or accident. We can’t be held responsible for damage caused getting your car off track if you don’t! Windows or window nets must be present and up 3/4 of the way. We don’t want anyone’s arms coming out of an open window whilst on track.

Circuit and track layout. Track layout will be decided and changed each day. During the briefing you will be told about the layout and plans for the day. This year the rumble strips on the inside of the circuit are currently being removed and will be gone by March so the track will be a lot wider and friendlier for beginners. Also the Kerbs in the middle of the track are being removed and the infield will be made level and resurfaced. Buxton are spending a lot of money to improve facilities at the moment.

Beginners. Many of our regulars started at Buxton and we see new drivers at every event so don’t feel because you have never been to an event before that Buxton isn’t for you. Each session is tailored to your ability and those around you. You wont be sent out on your first run out in a group of 10 cars. If you are, new let the Marshalls on the gate know and they will allow you out on your own or in very small groups. Our regular drivers are all very friendly and will offer advice and help. In the same respect if you just want to go on track with your mates get in the queue together and tell the gate marshal.

Buxton train queues. Something that has happened for a good number of years now and is great to watch, this is the regulars and experienced drivers going out in large groups. This year train stickers will be re-issued and are based on your driver’s ability. This is for drivers who rarely make mistakes and when they do, know how to get out of the way. Drivers are given Train stickers and its not something you can simply ask for. Staff and regulars are watching everyone during the day and will ask those who we think are up to it.

Saturday is an Open Practice day only.
Sunday is an Open Practice with a friendly competition in the afternoon if there is enough interest.

    Time Table
    8.30am Gates open (Both days).
9.00am drivers briefing. Everyone must attend a briefing. If you are late we will go through this with you but you may have to wait so try and be on time please.
Drifting starts from 9.30am till 5.30pm (maybe later light depending).

Things to bring on the day...

Zip ties, Duct tape and basic tools should the worse happen you can fix it. While everyone is helpful and friendly if no one brings anything no one will be repairing their cars.
Wheel Jack (sounds obvious but you would be surprised how many people don't)
    Wheel brace.
Helmet (full or open face) must be worn at all times when on track.

Buxton is one of the friendliest venues I have attended over the years and we get plenty of track time! Lets make 2016 the best year yet! See everyone there.

The rest of the dates for the year are as follows so everyone can mark it in their diarys.
