cool! i guess there isn`t many places that are safe to drift if your not awesome due to the crash barrier.

How was the ring for normal driving?

did 2 laps in the wet and 6 in the dry

was very dangerous in the wet as car was pushing on straight everywhere due to the 2 way diff

in the dry was great but car was getting hot by end of lap and tyres going off

the car shat the gbox completely a few weeks ago so i got a replacement s14a one otherwise on the ring running fine made a dodgy noise when it came off one lap a tad hot-110degC sounded like crunching gears or some kind of whine-maabe from the valve timing gear??????? but this stopped. i didnt do any further laps in case i wrecked it, no problems on the way home though

car defo needs better cooling, maybe some holes in bumper and if that doesnt work, a koyo rad.

one big fault is the car was losing coolant from the expansion tank due to the open breather system, is there any fix for this as i was topping it up every lap. Brakes were perfect once i put ferodos on.

managed a lap in the low 8s so car is quick round the track, but next time i will put some road legal slicks, rollcage and harder springs so i can stay with those rapid porsche GT3s.

ps gpt ureself an e30 yet?

shitty about the gearbox! i am sure with some semi slicks you could suprise a lot of stuff!

cant you just swap to a different tank with a breather valve at the top?

i got no car at the moment (or none worth mentioning) as i am leavin the country on the 6th.

its 280miles from boulogne to ring, so thats just less than a full tank

then 56 euros for a 4 lap package

    £35 breakdown cover for europe

my car was using about 9 litres of fuel a lap running about .9 bar in the dry

we stayed at a great hotel from where we could see a section of the nordschleife 25 euros a night

ferry crossing £65 return with speedferries

so not oo much really for the best weekend EVER!!!

    Ring rocks :)
Do you have an oil cooler on the car? Can make a big difference in your temps. I also don't run water cooling to the turbo :) Helps keep temps down by cooling the oil seperatly.

this here is "adenauer forst" popular place for spectators, because loads of drivers who don´t know the ring are going straight on in this 2nd gear BLIND left hander. And some do drift here:nod:

The guys over at Fast Classics say this....

If you go as a passenger, camping, it can be done on £160, for 3.5 full days lapping, so slightly less for a weekend ish.

    If you drive, it works out to £160 + £12 a lap + £6-8 fuel a lap.

An unlimeted Jahreskarte: (Full caendar year, unlimited laps) currently reside for £524, which is a Bucking Fargain, which I will be saving hard for. If you plan to do more than 60 laps (which I have proved is quite easy in 2 trips), then go for this to save money.

I'm definately going to try to go next year, all just depends on finances at the time

i will got there again this year. but i only have been 3 or 4 times this year - too much drifting-venues :-)

there are a couple of trackdays aswell, "DSK" for example, you´ll pay 120 GBP for 1 Day / 1h cars - 1h bikes - 30minutes to cleans the track from bikeparts and bikerparts - 1h cars ...

someone from here who wants to go to the ring again this year? its not that much traffic when weather is cold/wet:thumbs:

    cheers Martin
