I'm looking to fix up this E30 and drift it but I don't know exactly what I need to do what parts or anything... I'm a amateur so I would definitely like to be educated.
I know I need to fix a few things
starter, master cylinder, battery air intake, fan clutch.

    Thanks peeps

Fix it to a good standard as it will be getting used hard, weld the diff, fit a seat and go drift.
Upgrade parts as you go starting with suspension, coilovers and polyurethane bushes throughout and a 36 or 46 rack.
You don't need anything other than a welded diff to start off though.

I know a welded diff is the much cheaper way to do but but what would be the difference then a limited slip?

Welded diff is much more predictible in drifting. You can easily broke LSD when its getting hot, so i would not recommend you to use it.
If you are afraid of driving welded diff on the streets just try :) You will like it.

I have the exact same car, same motor, chassis, year, everything. Its a fine drift car. All ive done to mine is lower it, but i have an LSD, soon to be swapped to a welded(for better predictability)
Your car doesnt need much besides to run good. Get it road worthy, clutch kick the crap out of it, and have fun!:)
