    Hello there,

I just have all my MX-5 suspension arms powder coated and want to install my poly bushes.
Despite I told them not to, they also coated the inner surface of the tube where the bushes go in.

    My question is:

Should I remove the powder coating there first before installing the bushes, or should I leave it as it is? The paint has a slight wrinkle finish if that makes a difference. The bushes won't be just pushed in, but glued in as well (sikaflex), as they tend to rotate in the arms.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards
    István

You'll possibly struggle to get the bushes in unless you remove the powdercoat. Depends how much they've sprayed on I guess

if the bushes go in with the powdercoat on. you have the wrong bushes.

the bushes should be a tight fit (needing a press) with no powdercoat

Thank you! Already removed the powder coat and pressed them in!
The powerdercoat there was really thin, a dremel with some abrasive bit worked wonders. :)

    Cheers!
