Advice time..... fitted a m50b20 to my 318 cab

Now then the engine came out of an automatic donor car
And my car was a manual so ive used my 1.8 gearbox and diff ect on the new engine all drives fine

The problem i have is between gear changes it seems to take a second to actually realise its changing gear and feels like it loses a little bit of power while giving it death and while drifting it takes a fair amount of clutch kicks to keep it out once its in vanos range its not so bad but struggles to keep a slide going .

Now ive driven a m50b20 before and it was quicker than mine and kept power up while drifting (same power. And same coditions)

Would the issue be that im using the engine ecu from the automatic (the donor car my engine was from) would it still be thinking its an auto? Or am i just being crazy haha

Anyone ever had this issue? Or know of it and overcome it what did you do?

Been told the ecu can be chipped/converted to manual? If thats the case would it fix it ?
