My first post so thought I may as well jump in with both feet. Not my car but I'm invloved in the body mods. First project a set of Rocket Bunny style arches. Not sure if it's because I've only recently joined but unable to add any pictures ? {} {} {}
Thanks for the quick reply. I tried that but when I click ' add image' non of my pictures are visible. I'm used to my photo album appearing at that point. Sorry for my incompetence.
So you just need to navigate to wherever the files are stored on your computer. Alternatively, if you have two screens open on your computer you can literally click and drag each picture into the post as long as you are in edit mode, or select all of your pictures and drag them into the post.
Next part of the project has commenced. Crazy big Ducktail Boot Spoiler. Very early days so please excuse the sharp edges/angles they will get softened eventually. {} {} {}
A bit more shaping done on the Ducktail. I've been mocking up on my daily for now. Really need to get it on the drifter to see how it looks with the arches. {} {} {}
Thought that Rx8 looked familiar haha Wasn't aware Laidler had somebody helping him with the widebody kit! He told me about it though and it will look ace once finished!
Probably about time I posted.... This is my car, having returned to the 'scene' after a little break, after essentially getting to first name terms with my bank manager. The RX8 is an attempt to do skids without breaking the bank this time. Simpleish car, nothing too rediculous. A quick run down of the spec: -RX8 231 -Tein Street Basic coilovers -Hubs from Wizards of Lock -Full weld in cage from Sam at The Charge Garage. -Welder -Rota D2-EX: 18x10 12J all round -Uprated coils and leads -R3 starter motor Coming from a relatively well specced S14, the RX8 is certainly a different car to skid! I've done two days at Teesside in it so far, most recent being this passsed bank holiday Monday. A lack of front end grip was apparent from the off. Now, I'm mostly putting this down to shite front tyres. Dropping the PSI plenty helped somewhat, but didn't really give me the confidence I once had in an S Body, especially in the wet. It was also plauged by a faulty oil level sensor. The 'you've run out of oil, stop now or face immediate catastrophic engine failure' light was coming on and off at random throughout the day, but after many many checks, and some reading online during the lunch break, it's not uncommon for 2004 and 2005 RX8s to have this issue. The Americans recalled a lot of them to sort this apparently. With peace of mind, and a burger and chips in me, I went back out with a fresh mind set, and began to 're-learn' how to do slips. A dry track in the afternoon helped the grip levels up front, but I'm still not happy with it. The car was aligned at Slide a few days before, and given a healthy but not excessive amount of toe out, which made the car drive very very well when it does work, but I still found it difficult. Some solidish runs on West late in the day, and some good proximity with a chap in a 328 E36 made me leave the day a happy man. So, better front tyres, and we'll have another go soon. Oh, and 108.5db at a static 5k test means I need to do something with the exhaust. {}
I did wonder how this got through tech on Monday. It seemed proper loud haha Looks to go well though! Looking forward to seeing more of it at Teesside.
Thanks bud, that makes me feel better. Tbh I thought it was the worst days skids I'd done in a few years. I fly across to B&Q and bought some wire wool, stuffed it in one of the exhaust pipes. It definitely came out a few times mid skid though!
