my oil pump blew last Saturday on my sr20det. i have never seen anything like this. Its all rebuilt now. But just wanted to share and see maybe you guys could know the cause of this? {}
Nightmare.... did you check the pick up strainer was Intact? No holes in the mesh? I had an sr shit an oil pump but it was only due to my own stupidity. I was running a bee*r .... I know I know, and snapped a rocker arm. I lost one valve shim was in a rush for a track day and just stuck a new one in leaving this “missing” shim to live in the sump. It however to my surprise sucked right through the mesh on the strainer and shattered the oil pump into many more pieces than yours has. I have in the past split a oil filter and rolled out the element inside to see what’s been picked up if anything at all. I bought a dedicated tool for this purpose.
