hi all. I’ll be on the lookout for a CA18DET engine soon and wondering what the average price is. Looking for one that needs rebuilding as don’t want to suffer bottom end failure once the cars on the road. I got one about 7 years ago for £250 but by looking on eBay the prices have gone sky high. Welcome to the times of 'pick a price, any price' .. it's a fucking joke min. I had a guy try to sell me a 300zx back bumper in scruffy condition for 1k a few days ago; very rarely i feel the need to tell someone to fuck off but we had a winner. I'd say a FAIR and REASONABLE price to pay for a working CA18DET is £500-750 depending on mileage. What you will be asked to pay may be something entirely different.

Enough people took them apart you might find someone with a box full of engine pieces. If you're rebuilding it anyway it doesn't really matter if it comes complete or in pieces.
