    Hi guys,

anyone clued up on the likely cause of this?
    SR20de

Runs perfectly for 5 secs then dies, regardless of throttle input.
Do the same but squirt Easy-start into the intake and it keeps running.
Fuel pump keeps running even once cut-out, pressure is nominal.

So one would think 'injectors are the culprit'.

When I unplug the MAF to put it into limp mode it runs consistently and wont die.
Tried adjusting Timing etc. and made no difference, CAS can't be 180 as dizzy is keyed for one direction.

I think you've answered your own question - faulty MAF

See I thought at the start it would be that straightforward but everything i read suggests unplugging the maf takes all the sensors 'feedback' out of play; so just unplugging it doesnt automatically prove its the sensor at fault.. ive tried a spare and it performed same fault but ill buy another

Stock ecu has like a ‘get you home’ feature, where if your maf is completely dead, engine will still run. You can check it at the plug with a multi meter.

Could also be faulty MAF wiring too

Your are the f*cking ticket!! :-D

Turns out it WAS the maf, it wasn't faulty as was working on the other car - but was the wrong one. Both were from a p10 primera sr20, both had same pins and sensor setup (different connector location albiet) but one from an earlier version one from a later; my ecu was earlier.

So 17 quid later and months of going over my wiring convinced I made a mistake can finally be put behind me :p
