Hi guys I have a 1995 Nissan 180SX (RPS13) and I have started converting to R33 fixed calipers. With my car being a late model S13, it came with the terrible S14 rear brake calipers with the handbrake lever being on the back of the calliper instead of a drum handbrake. I have fitted R33 backing plates, the little bracket pressed into the hub, all of the correct shoes and fitted up. The issue I am having with with the Cables. I have tried to fit R33 cables and when they were bolted into place on the back of the hub and to the mounting bracket the cable was under so much tension you couldn’t fit it to anything, even with the lever slackened all the way off. I then tried S13 cables (UK spec RS13), these were about 20cm too short, matched up to all the brackets except the final one where the cable connects to the lever inside the car. Now S14 cables are completely incorrect as the fittings are wrong, so I’m running out of ideas as to which ones to use... My thoughts now move toward R32 or Z32 cables but can’t afford to keep buying cables and testing them on a whim. Anyone done this conversion before? Neither Slide Motorsport or Garage D could give me a definitive answer.
Just fit the complete r33 handbrake including cables, they should fit as an r33 is slightly bigger than a s13.
I bought brand new ones and I could not get them to fit without cutting a section of the shroud away?
