Hey guys, looking into buying something cheap to begin drifting. I have been looking at a E46 325 Compact.

    Question I have is:
    1. Is this a good car to begin with and is 190hp enough to slide it?
    2. How much should it cost to convert into a drift car?
    3. Apart from the hydraulic e brake, welded LSD, seat and steering wheel. What other parts should I consider?

    thanks!

    Forget the hydro,

weld the diff, fit a bucket seat and off you go, coil overs / springs after the two previous

    190bhp is plenty of power

As said above, don't even have a beemer. Get an mx5 with a seat and harness and away you go. Spend all your money on seat time.

Don't even think about fitting a hydro until you are regularly in 3 or more car tandems and need to adjust your line, it breeds terrible habits that creates a very boring driving style.
