    Hello,
My car is used for road/trackday/drift
I'm looking for a new/stronger differential, mine is dying.
I came across bmw m5 diff.
for drift I can supply voltage to the lsd motor, and get 100% lock
Road I leave the diff open
Trackday I lock the diff when throttle is applied

But I haven't see anyone using BMW active diff, maybe for a good reason?
    Thanks for your inputs
    some readings http://www.bimmerfile.com/2011/09/28/the-active-m-differential-in-detail/

I would not do this, I am by no means an expert but you do not want an electric closing diff, to much hassle or thing that can go wrong
Either weld your diff and daily with it or spend the extra money on a LSD

Thanks for the answer I think you are right but could you please elaborate why I don't want an electronic diff?
Regarding the hassle I'm already in :
2.5l turbo in a 2008 mx5. The gearbox/diff is not good if I turn the boost up (already 1 blow gearbox). So bmw gearbox/diff will be the way to go I think

I would buy a BMW gearbox as they are pretty strong, the electrical diff I am just not convinced, to musch things that can go wrong electical wise, will probably cost alot when it breaks etc
