    final-proof.
Some of you already know about this, as information was informally released to the guys who attended the last Lydd practice and the more recent Clay Pigeon drift day.

    LYDD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.

    Information is as follows:

Event is being held on the weekend of the 24th and 25th of November 2007.

This will be a TEAM DRIFT competition. Teams will consist of 2 or 3 drivers.

    This event is judged.

The three confirmed judges are: Lex, Stavros and Declan.

Saturday will be run as PRACTICE ONLY.

Price for practice on Saturday is £65, and there are 32 places available for practice.

Queue times on the practice will not be bad, as myself and Nick will be assisting with the marshalling.

Price for Practice and competition on the Sunday is £70.

Spectators will be charged entrance on the Sunday, this is £8.

Drivers will have to give passenger rides on the practices.

Photographers welcome, and a magazine will be in attendance. Photographers will be allowed to photgraph from the centre grass area, but cones will be in place to restrict the braver ones from sitting on the apex of the corner :wack:

Photographers will be issued with Hi-viz Jackets.

    Regulations:

Scrutineering will be done on each car entering the comp, scrutineering will be run saturday and sunday morning to save time. Cars will be given a scrutineering sticker once passed.

    Overalls/Racesuit
    In Car fire extinguisher
    Helmet with chin-straps
    Visible tow-eyes, front and back
Front tyres will have MOT passable legal front tread.
7 turns on the wheel nuts is MANDATORY. Scrutineers will check this.

    Itinerary (Subject to Change)

Saturday, Practice only. Practice all day

    Sunday,
    830 am Sign on
    900 am Briefing
    930 am Cars prepped
    1000 Team Practice
    1200 Start competition.
Teams will consist of 2 or 3 drivers.

8 teams will be dropped after the first round.

Next round, 8 teams run 2 judged laps sending 4 teams through to the next round.

4 teams run 2 judged laps, sending 2 teams through to the final.

2 drivers nominated by the judges go through to the final, to be run as a standard competition

The 5 minute rule WILL be enforced. I'm looking at the possibility of running substitute drivers from teams for cars that potentially die/damage during the comp, but further information will be provided on this at a later date.

Payments for the practice and competition have to be paid up front. (Track has to be paid for)

To just pay for the practice, please send a payment of £65 to paypal@driftracing.co.uk, including, your name, type of car, colour of car, and the fact that you are paying for the practice on saturday.

To pay for the competition, please send a payment of £70 to paypal@driftracing.co.uk, including, your name, type of car, colour of car, and the fact that you are paying for the practice and competition on Sunday.

Your name will not be placed on the list until full payment is received.

Cut off date for payments is 1st November

Payments are non-refundable,as the track needs to get paid, so if you pay, please make sure you can attend

If you are unable to attend, but have already paid, you can sell/ask for sexual favours from others for your place, sort it out amongst yourselves.

I can also provide details for those who don't have a paypal account and wish to do balance transfer or cheque payment.

Any questions, please fire them in here.

My number is: 07966662545 if you need to ask any questions.

    PS: Rollcages not required. :)

Camping is available for those hard enough to brave November 24th in the cold.

For those who like the warmth of the pub and a nice cosy bed, there are various hotels in the area, which do very good rates.

Think I might have to give jon-boy a ring and see if he fancies teaming up as he seems to have the fastest car in terms of grip in team ss :D

Cool, will be thinking about this.

    But really, wtf?
"Wheels must be secure" is enough surely? 7 turns is a bit of a random number as the actual thread engagement will depend on the pitch. Apart from anything else the scrutineers will be bloody busy over the weekend undoing and doing up (while counting turns) something like 500 wheel nuts per day.:wack:

It's not a random number, and they won't be doing everyones, just the ones that blatently aren't. It's a safety thing. One nut from suspect wheels will be enough to check.
