MK3 N/A Supra help?

    Hi all

    Looking for abit of help as im going to have alook at a MK3 Supra on Weds

    What do i need to look out for? I heard head gaskets are a problem?

    its a 1988 with 113k and full service

    if it's decent should hopefully be at Oulton Parks next DWYB day

    hg are a prob but as long as they have been retorqed and checked during its 20 yr life they should be ok on an N/A
    also the other weak pont is old thermostats and rod knock where the rod bolts strech or break over time causing bearings and other bits to fly about. type; rod knock into you tube
    these are the common weak parts but mine was a turbo:(
    if you cant find any fault on inspection make sure you take it for a long drive through all gears get it warmed up properly any strange noises:wave:.
    because guaranteed like me as soon as you start revving the bollocks off it on the track as i did you will find the weakest link goodbye:dw:

    Rust, rear arches. Mine had none.

    Check the back lights as well. The foam gaskets behind them are cack, and you can find a fair old rusty mess in behind there.
