Are 5 stud hubs better than 4 stud, or is it just there is a better selection of wheel fitments for 5 stud.

I have a crashed r33gtst and want to put most of the parts onto a c34 laurel.
All the rear end of the skyline will fit onto the laurel but the front section is the same as the s14.

Are 4 stud hubs and carriers ok?

5 stud joints have a higher load capacity*, but as no one is ripping their wheels off of 4 stud hubs then clearly 4 stud hubs are well up to the job. So stay 4 stud unless you have a reason to change the hubs or just want wheels you can't get in 4 stud.

    * 5/4 times the clamp load on the friction face, assuming the same bolt torque (and Nissan use the same recomended torque for 4 and 5 stud). Normally the number of studs is related to vehicle weight - loads of studs/bolts on trucks, only 3 on little Citroens.
