Sounds like a good setup, and kudos for the work you done yourself mate. Yea the Leda's should be good, picked them up from my dad who is using Bilstein's on his corolla now instead.

I know a nice paint job can be so decieving to what is underneath. She is getting a full respray soon, I think I am going to keep it white. Thanks for the comments. Yea I am hoping to make it to the Ace Cafe this year, and get my dad to bring along his AE86 coupe too. Hope to do some drift days over the summer too ;) So I better get a wiggle on :D

It's been a while since I have updated this so here goes. 95% of the welding is completed, and the last few bits should be easy enough as I have made templates in cardboard, cut the rust out and have cut metal to fit. After these last few bits are welded in, she should be able to go to the spray shop. Some bits like the boot have been rubbed down and primed already, I just need to get the car up there now. The target is before July to have it basically done, because my garage is waiting on my Dad's corolla to replace mine ;).

Here are some new pictures of the work carried out.
The boot rubbed down to metal.

    A pillar repaired and primed.

The front is back on. It will be off again soon for the respray. So about half the bolts and nuts are on atm :p
The inside 95% done, just got one near seat rail to weld in. The bulkhead turned out quite well. The main sheet covers the large hole, whilst a few pieces cover the smaller gaps on each side.

Strut brace to go over where the springs used to be, as now I will be running MCN rear coilovers. There will be two bars coming off the main one onto the strut tower, this is to replace the original brace as I cannot run the original Cusco one because of the fuel cell.

The next update will be of it's new spray job :wack:

Ready to leave the garage finalllllly. It looks a bit like an Ebisu missile with all the primer on and shitty paint lol but it wont be for too long before it gets a nice new coat.

    I like your work ;)
Just going to the same on mine, similar problems, but worse ;) Seen the add for this one and never espected that much rot under there...
But that´s what all the old Corollas are like.

    Allways worth the effort.
This will be awesome with a decent proper paintjob!!!

EDIT: Just noticed, you changed your side/parking lights from Zenki to the orange Kouki ones.
Any chance you´re selling the zenki ones, cause I´m desperate for a right one!!!

Thanks mate. They are definitely worth the effort, and having a decent shell to start with is important :D. For what ive heard UK shells are the worst, with jap ones being far cleaner.

Yea the previous owner covered up the rot very well, making it seem mint haha amazing what a bit of filler can cover up.

Sorry mate the Kouki lights came with the car. But me and my dad are going to collect another AE86 soon from storage with a shit load of spares including lights etc so I will have a look to see what I have.

Im looking for a set of rear lights and a boot spoiler but seeing as it's a booter its difficult to find, do you know of anywhere who sells a boot spoiler?

Pls let me know if you find any sidelights ;)

Whats wrong with your tail lights? Do they actually have cracks other damage or is it just the fading on the indicator lense that bothers you?
Mine looked the same, what I did, wet sanded the lense, mask everything else clear plastic primer and 2 layers of clear coat, gave the red lense a plastic polish and that was the result:

As for the spoiler, if you´re looking for genuine item its quiet hard to find them. Are you registered at aeu86.org? I´ve seen a few there before...

I have asked my dad about his car and spares, and he said he does'nt remember seeing any sidelights, just lots of trim and bits. try AE86IRL.com there are endless amounts of parts there. There are loads of cars being broken in Ireland and the prices are reasonable with some of the people breaking them. Some are willing to post too, so check it out. When I was over in Belgium for the Boucle de Spa Rally, I noticed lots of ae86's there which was a cool surprise. I was told that Toyota Belgium ran the TRD ae86 race teams etc and have plenty ae86 parts available there?

Yea they are very dull and have some cracks. Thanks for the advise, I will give it a go.:D I think I recognise your car from Lydden Hill in April? I was there with a silver MX5.

I´m not a member of AE86IRL yet, but looks like I have to do it at some stage... If everyting goes allright I´ll have a pair of sidelights soon ;)
Trim you say, if there are any brown door sill panels and a clock sourround and you´re willing to sell let me know.

It seems to be a common thing with those Zenki taillights, they always fade and all the 2nd hand ones you´ll find will more or less have he same problem.

Yeap been to Lydden Hill and hopefully willl be there again on the 18th of August!!! Was it the matt silver MX5?

Whats next on your Corolla? Is it more like a longterm all the way thing?

Awesome good to hear. Yea sidelights can be pretty difficult to turn up, especially the early ones. Sounds cool Lydden Hill is a great track and takes a lot of balls  especially them long straights into the bends, but it is good fun. Yea that grey MX5 is my friend's car, he is a nutter behind the wheel, he makes the most of its power :smokin: A bit like an ae86, you have to work hard to make it slide.

Well at the moment is is in the spray shop, so by next week the car should be sprayed, and then it's a case of putting it all back together and fit all the new parts I have collected over the last 6 months. I intend to test it next month at an gymkhana event at a local airfield, then take it to Santa Pod for a proper test :wack: What about you, what plans have you for yours?

At the spray shop. I have been prepping it and should be going in for paint Friday, by starting off with the inside. I find this picture amusing. An elephant in the room comes to mind :D

4AGE 16V AE86? Flat out, handbrake, clutchkick is the only way to go:D

What colour ar you going for?

I definatly need a paintjob as some point, but there are more important things to do at the moment, as I´m still learning there will me a few more dings and scratches here and there.

Well next for me as I booked Lydden Hill I´ll need rear coilovers, wheel alignment, plumb in the hydro tires. And there is allways loads of rust in case I get bored ;)

That's what makes it fun ofcourse, you have to drive the doors off an 86 to get the best out of it lol.

Well tomorrow I must decide with the spray shop on exact colours. I have chosen an interior colour, it is going to be metallic silver inside perhaps with a pearl. And I am torn between many colours for the outside :wack: Becuase I have been given the option of spraying it any colour and the cost being the same for what ever colour I chose, it makes it impossible to choose! haha  The shop owner said it would be cool to do it purple, but I am not so sure lol You cannot go wrong with white tbh. But I have to choose tomorrow.;)

I have fitted new arches that are originally off Golf Mk 1's. They are a bit wider so I can go up to possibly 10j on the rears. New spoiler too, BMW Mtech 1 fitted like a dream because I couldn't find an OEM one anywhere. It is just laid on at the moment, so it will look flat when fitted. Plus, I think this one looks better.[IMG]
